I would love to be able to continue to play here in Sanfield. Of course, my two main characters are pretty much gone. One torped and on a roof, the other down in the sewers, and neither story is going to get done, from the look of things. (I 'finished' one story my way...anyone want to hear that silliness...well, ask) But yeah, I can't ST worth a damn, my sheets are always wrong despite spending much time on them, but new ST's or, well, something. I might even scare up a new charrie or two.

I haven't been here very long, but I truly see how great this place is. I will be making a character for the new game, but I have no problem hanging around here, too. I love Melina As for ST's, I'm new to forum play in general, but I know Changeling very well (even though I screwed up my first character sheet. I've made dozens of characters correctly.) I don't have the knowledge or time to be a full ST, but I'd be happy to assist a ST with Changeling, and even write a little plot. Unless there's someone better qualified who wants it. |

I have been an ST for many years in table top and if its this site dying or me stepping up I would be willing to help out a bit around here and take on some ST reins |

well the issues is that the story just got to big for the s.t. If we take it over we will need to slim it down to just vampire or Mage and give more control to p.c. not n.p.c. Let the P.C. make the story plot like we do at rice.( if you don't know a good chunk of the players run a very large Larp in Houston.) We all know that p.c. make more conflict than s.t. could ever give out. I'm willing to take up a god mode s.t. slot for basic combat and scenery but we all know that i suck at typing. I'm pretty good assistant s.t.

I can ST Vampire, though I'm a little reluctant to since my primary motivation for continuing is playing Deirdre as she is, and well...Deirdre was against a lot of the ST-characters. So... I think it might be a good idea to pare things down. I think one of the things that killed the site (and which I don't blame the STs for wanting to do on that part) is that it got way too big, and each game that got added was just one more thing tacked on. There was a kind of "urban sprawl" with the whole set-up: it grew and grew without much organization and integration. Personally, I wouldn't mind taking out some of the games that we had very few players for. While I'm not saying we should completely discard all Changelings of Hunters, perhaps it would be best to have only a few such characters, instead of trying to run entire stand-alone games with them? Personally, I never got involved in any of the other games but Vampire. I like Slater's idea: we try to keep this very player-oriented. Perhaps we can talk to RJ about handing over the password for his main administrator profile, and we can turn it into a collective ST profile. We can elect 2-3 co-STs who will have the password to the profile, and can run things. We can also talk to RJ about handing over the stats for his principle NPCs like the Prince and Arturo, and if he has any of the characters sheets for other important non-active characters like the Regent or the Sheriff. We can choose to divy up the NPCs as to who gets what, or maybe just end them -- I mean, wouldn't it be cool if we did run an Anarch revolt, and the entire city became PC-ran? Thoughts? Suggestions?

If I understand the sort of thing you guys are talking about, here's what I think. In order to do a game without ST's, you have three options (or some combination.) You can get more players. Right now there are, what, 10 of us around here? Interacting with the same 10 PC's is not going to create much plot, especially if we're as divided as some of us seem to be. (Kovacs and I haven't had much reason to interact with the Vampire players and they haven't had much reason to interact with us, etc...) More players means more potentials for interaction. This may be easier said then done though, especially if you limit what people can play. (I joined because I was looking for a Changeling game. I'm not saying that I won't play in a Vampire game, but by making a game all Vampire, you are going to turn off the potential players who prefer Mage, or Werewolf, or whatever, and are out looking for that game.) You could try to solve this by having everyone who is around take on multiple characters. Some folks do this already, and if you have enough people who are willing, that could make it work, even if people made some cardboard cutouts just so that someone has a bouncer to dominate into letting him into the club. But it'd take a lot of characters being around to have enough reasons to interact. Finally, you can significantly cut back the focus of the game. I'm not talking about just cutting it back to Vampire. Given the size of the forum right now, you might have to cut it back to "just the primogen counsel." Or "just the Vampires who come to Elysium." (not that there wouldn't be scenes that don't take place there, but just that would give all of the characters a reason to interact with each other.) If you think I'm wrong that's fine. You probably know better then I do. You don't have to argue the point with me personally. I'm just throwing my thoughts out there in case they're constructive somehow. (editing to say: all the thing I refer to specifically are examples. The point holds true of you decided to make it mostly Mage, or Changeling, or whatever.) --Last edited by Melina Petrova on 2009-04-10 23:37:35 -- |

I can AST (Assistant storyteller) Mage, Vampire, Changeling, and even possibly Werewolf. The only thing I'm bad at is coming up with overarching plots, which is why I say AST. I run Reina, Nikki, Malaclypse, Illuminata and Poe. I don't know how many of those will stay here and how many will transfer, but I hope you can see that I love this stuff and I am versatile, so taking over NPCs is not a problem for me. I know I've been more inactive lately, it's mostly because my personal life imploded and because my boss accused me of spending too much time on non-work related sites so I cut out all recreational web use at work...but I really do love this game. |

I think we need to have more than one ST. That's a given. I know there are people who aren't involved in Vampire, so we'd need someone to step up to ST those games. Really, I can't handle STing more than one game, and Vampire is what I'm most familiar with. So, for the time being, until we get more people, we might have to pare some things down unless we have peole willing to step up to the plate. What I'm really hoping is that once we get the game revived then we'll get people willing to step up into some ST roles, or willing to work as supervisors/admins. This is my first time doing anything like this, so I'm kind of feeling around blindly. I'd love to keep this game going. I've put in far too much to just abandon it. But I'm kind of treading water and I'm a little unsure where to go from here. I think, however, that its a given at least for Vampire that some of the players will have to pick up NPCs for awhile. Alright, so let's make a list here. Place your name, and what games you'd be willing to run, and whether you'd like to take over as primary ST, co-ST, or an assistant ST. Also, if you'd be willing to take over NPC characters. Tara: Prime ST/Co-ST/Assistant ST -- Vampire --Last edited by Tara532 on 2009-04-15 16:41:10 --

After posting that, on my drive home, I set up a plan for at least the Vampire game: I'll take over the reins as primary Vampire ST for at least the time being. I think with the switch we need one person guiding it, instead of two or three people haggling over things. However, if you'd like to co-ST or help plan things, let me know and we can knock heads together. Right now I'm going to put the game on hold. I sent RJ an e-mail about sending me his stats for the NPCs. I'm also going to go down the list of Vampire characters (and possibly ALL the characters) and send out e-mails notifying the former players of the change of management and who is interested in still playing their characters, re-joining with new characters, or taking over as STs for some of the other games. I have finals coming up, and after May 8th (when my finals will be over) I will start the game up again. Between that time, we can divvy up any NPCs people may want. From there, any PCs that haven't been reclaimed...well, they'll be left to the wolves so to speak. I have some big ideas brewing, and when the dust settles, I'm hoping for a revamped (no pun intended) Sanfield, that'll be more player-oriented. As for the other games: Let's put together that list of who is willing to run what.
