The Mountains are forbidding enough during the day. There are areas that are hiker friendly and even offer campsites. But most people avoid them after that group of high school kids all turned up disemboweled and hung from trees...

The forest is thick and the mountains are steep. Most people who enter, even on bright sunny days, are overcome by a strange sense of being watched or hunted...

At night the woods and mountains are downright terrifying. There are wolves, it is very easy to get lost and most people who spend a night report strange lights or sudden complete lacks of animal noise. Which is perhaps the moment to be most terrified...

Somewhere, in the mountains, yet, hidden from view is a small rv.  Perhaps not the biggest, or the best, but its got power, and a nice area for a vampire to lie hidden during the day.  

The youngish man who lives in the rv, well, ok he looks like a strung out junkie, who's also a computer geek.  

Oddly, he never seems to be hassled by anyone about.  Day....or night.
