The power plant provides electricity to the majority of the city. it is in an industrial area and a bit of an eyesore. In post 9/11 paranoia the power plant is very secure with high fences and a few armed guards on the premises. To enter the building you have to pass through a checkpoint to get to the parking garage and another to get into the main building. the plant itself has tall smokestacks and a sprawling support complex around it.

There is a single freight elevator in the center of the plant that only goes down. it is keycard activated and most employees dont even know its there. This is the Son Of Ether laboratory. Mages of this tradiation have access to experiment and engineering space, as well as a supercomputer and, obviously, the power provided by the plant above. Brownouts can easily be explained away by the age of the powerplant.

DEVELOPMENT--------------------------------

The plant remains unharmed. But the Sons of Ether laboratory is no more. After the technocracy introduced a virus that nearly killed both Etherites they were able to escape with their lives but the lab didnt fair so well.

The Labs are bathed in dangerous levels of radiation and seals are in place to keep it contained. Breaking the seals and entering whatever remains of the labs would not only be suicide but would endanger most of the city.

The final reading taken by Pelayo before he palced the final seal was so high that the lab will be uninhabitable for at least the next few hundred years...

The Sons are offically homeless.
