She is summoned, so she quickly makes her way to the lab. She’s all ready, scientist’s coat on and all. She looks like the good-little-student. ‘Mr. Rahshid, E-Rap reporting for duty,’ with a smile she greets him and heads over to his side. She looks at the items, ‘task number 2, sir?’ |

Rah'shid's cold face does not betray him to her quick quip. "No, not quite. You are going to make your tools, your 'foci' so to speak." He hands her a heavy arts and crafts book titled "Glass Making and You". "Since you are a chemist, I assume you will be preforming through reactions between substances. This means you will need beakers, test tubes, and other various glassware. So, you will be making them." He lets her flip through the book quickly before continuing, allowing her to process and ask questions before continuing. --Last edited by Rahshid on 2009-01-13 19:24:06 --

She takes the book and looks at him with a funny expression. She's used these items, never had to make them before. She opens her mouth but shuts it quickly, it is obvious that he is not joking about that. 'Well,' a look from heavy book to him, 'I am sure I will be able to manage.' But the look in her eyes says...translate: I hope I'm able to do this! 'Since this is my very first glass-making attempt....you, 'a pause before she adds in a whisper,' will help me? |

He smiles slightly to hopefully calm her a little, "I will help you make your foci, after all, you'll want them to be percise." He lets his smile fade away, returning to his serious look, "But this does by not mean I will make them completely. I will primarly help with making sure the instruments contain the correct volumes, but the purification and bulk of the creation has to be done by you, in order to atune them to your Avatar." He leads his apprentice over to a large oven like structure, where there is a 24 pack of plaster waiting for her. "Since we are working in the lab and not at my factory, we will use this oven. We will use the plaster to make a mold, and when the glass is hot enough you pour it in." "The first step is purification. I took the liberty to get you set up with charcoal filters and distiled water."

She looks at his smile and returns one to him, he can smile! She chuckles to herself but quickly clears her throat, ‘all right, sounds like a plan.’ E-Rap knows that he will have to be her crutch for a while, till she begins to understand all of this better. University was just the basics...this is the real thing. Boy, wouldn’t Trevor have loved this now! The learning, the creating. Her brows furrow for a second as the thought of her ex passes though her mind. Yah, he would have loved it, but he did have those weird hippy-types he so liked to hang around with, mixing this, doing that, till it made him ill in the head. For a moment, she is distracted, but quickly regains her composure and looks to the oven. ‘Thank you, Mr. Rahshid...’ hands move to the plaster’s smoothness, ‘let us begin then.’ And she gives him one more smile, just in case he caught any bit of that memory moment. --Last edited by Engel Rapunzel Lee on 2009-01-19 12:24:32 -- |

"You may want to get started on the purification of the sand. Here are some coffee filters and distilled water, and the sand is over there." He points to a large bag of sand next to three 5 gallon jugs of water. "When filtering, examine the sand, run your hands through it and get a good feel of it. Picture the imperfections and foriegn bodies in your mind and think about them, make a painting of them in your mind." ((Unless RJ has different thoughts, maybe this should be a meditation+int roll, D6 to see the impurities in your mind))

(2009-02-05 19:59:17 Engel rolls 5 dice to med+int 9,6,3,5,4 (2 successes) She nods and walks to the sand. She looks at it then slowly opens the bag. Her fingers grip the bag, making it crinkle softly. She moves her left hand into the bag very slowly, letting it sink in as though it were entering quicksand. Her lids flutter until they close, yet her eyeballs flicker underneath. Fingers wriggle around the sand. She feels it trickle though her fingers. Then she pulls her hand out, a handful of grains inside, lids opening as she lets the grains fall like a gravel waterfall back to their bag. |

"Good." He sounds like a proud parent watching a child do something for the first time, like ride a bike. "Now, focus on the sand." Rah'shid hands her a filter, a jar with some water, an empty jar, and some PH test strips. "First, we purify the sand. Put the filter in the empty jar, then pour in some sand and half the water on top of it. Do not loose your focus." ((Roll another med and int to contain focus on the sand))

(2009-03-11 10:32:31 Engel rolls 5 dice to med+int 9,7,5,2,4 (2 successes) It looks like she isn't listening for she does nothing; no nod, no words. But on the contrary, she has heard every word as she holds onto that concentration. E-Rap does as she is told. The filter is placed gently in the empty jar, followed by some sand. She takes the water, focusing on each drop falling over the other elements. Everything is done with focused, liquid motions. |
