Street corners, one would think, are a great place for a struggling musician to make some cash.  Too open however, the police tend to dislike when Leonard plays there, too many things could go wrong.  A person stops to listen in the middle of the street, gets hit by a car.  That was always bad for business.  Being a merchant of death is one thing, but people dying to hear a tune?  Absurde!

So he stays away from the corner typically. Outside restaurants were typically good.  Nothing beats getting paid to go away!  But he wasn't playing today to get money, he was scouting this city out.  He knew what the towering structure in the downtown area was, no one had to tell him. But he was here, hired by Aurora, for clean up, so to speak.  He was looking for others like him, who were able to weave the threads of reality to their will.

A flurry of sound flies from his sax, diligently moving his fingers on the valves he produces a melody that sounds like a harmonus random collection of notes that for what ever reason seem to flow together well.

Mind 2 (from the sax), foci (the actual sax) coincidental
2008-09-23 16:17:30 Leonard rolls 3 dice to mesmorise (Diff 4) 4,9,6 (3 successes)

While to the normal people only hear regular notes, those of supernatual, magical, or other wise not normal, hear a little diddy behind the notes, an entrancing tune that may hold their attention for a little bit.  Its the way Leonard tells those who are mundane from the non-mundane typically.  After all, how can you miss some guy that just stands there drooling for two hours?

Leonards playing will attract a few people. Street musicians arent too uncommon around here, saxophones are kind of a rarity though. A few mundanes will drop him some cash.

2008-09-23 17:26:08 Roth Simons rolls 7 dice to willpower 9,5,1,8,1, 1,6 (failure)

After a while Leonard will notice he has snared someone with his playing. A tall, rugged looking guy with a beard stands holding a coffee to his lips, staring from across the street. He looks frozen in his spot where he was dropping off a bundle in a banks nightdrop slot...

Catch of the day, he thinks to himself. A smile.  Just from the music he can't tell WHAT the man across the street is, but he is something. A bad something, a 'why he got hired' something.  The man probably doesn't even know he's just standing there zoning out.  'Should I start now' he wonders to himself at first, Aurora would be pretty upset if he did.  He would just have to keep playing see what flies the honey brings in.

The pedestrians are nice enough to tip him though.  He really wasn't expecting too much, but a Big Mac from the dollar menu was still a Big Mac. He would play for a little more before walking over there to search the man for ID. probably when there were more people on the streets.  And the song continues with some flourish in sound.

2008-09-23 17:45:20 Leonard rolls 3 dice to mez song (Diff 4) 4,1,1 (failure)
((how is this not a botch??))
=================================================================

The song continues but it remains mostly the same.  He hits a flat note accidently, though the crowd won't notice it much, he will and know that his song has ended prematurely.  He pays little more attention to it and instead focuses on the man across the street.

(Good Question, it IS a botch... and would break the mesmerizing effect of your song.Ive never seen the diceroller do that...)

The man who had frozen resumes what he was doing, apparently not noticing the world is six seconds ahead of him. He sips his coffee, closes the drop slot and heads off downt he street.

A bow after playing and a quick pickup and he is off, time to follow the fox to it's hollow.  The case is strapped to his back, cheap sunglasses over his eyes, and a cigarette in his mouth, all he needs at the moment for this.  He strolls down the street at a steady pace, doing his best to tail the man with the coffee.

Locked on target.  Or crosshairs.  Or whatever.  Leonard didn't care, he had a job to do, and he does damn decent work for a 'bum'.  He acts natural. 'Just going the same way is all', he tells himself.  Which is true, he was going the same way to the lair of his prey.

Leonard will be able to easily follow the semi-oblivious Roth. He walks a few blocks before entering a building, No, a club.

The White Rabbit, the strip club Mecca of Sanfield.

A fox leads a hound to its hollow, and just as such the coffee man leads Leonard to a very intresting place.  As a mage, he can tell this building is near a node, not a big one, but big enough.  He knew what he had to do next, steak out.  there were a few streets and alleys near the building he could play in a few times a day, see who enters and leaves.  Just as instructed by Aurora, he would be the hawk, circling the den of field mice, watching villigently for those who enter and leave.  When the time was right, Aurora could probably set him up for a gig, to identify those of...special intrest.

(And this should put you at 'Flowers and weeds' in the Rabbit so you can try and net a few more people as they elave or come in or whatever.)

(OOC: As long as you have at least ONE success rolls are not a botch, merely a failure.  If that roll had been at diff 5 it would have been BOTCH x 2.  The more you know )

I was always under the impression that if your ones cancelling out successes put you negative, regardless of how many had to be cancelled it was a botch.

Or maybe i just really like seeing people botch...
