Posted 04/01/2009 08:09:47 PM | | The next night, after getting Diane home from the police station, and getting the true details, Rose will make her way to the site of her former shop.
Totally destroyed, not only from the fire, but also from something else as well. The very few things left were the safe (nicely fireproof, thank goodness all the money and few documents were left in there, or safely tucked away elsewhere) and a largish fireproof box that had been residing under her bed downstairs. A bit crunched, but still workable. Not that what was in it looked to be all that necessary, just some small pieces she had been working on, (such as Rival Princesses) Still, it was something to show for her months here in the city.
Once she got those items from the area, the small place could be leveled out, waiting for the next decision on hers and Diane's part. Angie too would have a say, although, as it was, Rose was thinking that both girls might need to be far far away from this city. If what Diane had been gabbling about was true. If there is someone here gunning after Kindred, those girls were not safe. Well, ghouls were rarely safe at the best of times, and neither one would be of any use in a fight. They had not been chosen for fighting abilities, after all. Neither had Rose, but she'd learned a few things in the past few decades.
No, the girls could be sent to her sire, once they had permission to leave, then she could hunt for the person who'd done this.
Her next stop would be the Lucky Star. Not only to speak with the primogen, but also to apprise another kindred owner of the possible attack. She didn't think such a thing would happen, but he would also know of any other toreador enterprises in the city, and be able to warn them as well. He might also be able to assist her in figuring out which way to go in investigating this. The police, she was sure, would not find much.
