*the 75 caprice classic rolls up outside the apartment complex where missing officer Wilhelm lived.  Knox sits in his car watching the entrance for a long few moments.  He sips his flask for a moment deciding how to proceed.  He gets out of his car and goes on up the main entrance and lets himself in.*

The door would be unlocked, and the appartment largely untouched.  Wilhelm's badge is on the table, with coffee mugs across from one another.  His coat is still hung on a rack, and piles of mail and news papers are on his floor, flowing from the box.  The air is stale though, and the rooms quite dusty.

Knox starts by looking in Wilhelm's fridge for some booze, after he's satisfied on that he investigates the apartment.

Upon investigating the apartment, Knox will find some thing out of place, little things.  The way the chairs are, it looks like there were two people in the room, both left in a hurry.  The door is weakly hindged, as if someone tried to slam it.  A small dent is barely visible near the door.  However, there is no hard evidence of a strugle.  A clue will be found though, a small note book with a list of names, one of which is Wilhelm's.  The writing is sloppy and hard to read, Wilhelm's name is at the very last page of writing, and written fairly neatly.  ((an investigation roll can be made with the book at D8 due to sloppy hand writing))

Though the names are hard to read, far more then half of them sound Dutch.  Even Wilhelm's name is Dutch.  His name was written recently too, with in the past month.  The notebook is otherwise unremarkable.

*Knox slides the book into his coat pocket.  He reaches into his shirt pocket and pulls out a smoke, he lights it and walks out of the apartment.  He closes the door and heads down to the superintendent's apartment.*

"Time to do a little questioning..." he sighs to himself.

If he knocks on the door, there isn't an answer.  The 'super' seldom is home, most of the tenents of the apartment work 3 jobs to get by, even the super.  As he puffs on his cigarette, he'll notice a No Smoking sign next to the appartment exit.

*Knox knocks on the super's door:

"Sanfield Police." He shouts.

After a few moments he gives up and puts his cigarette out on the floor next to the no smoking sign.  He pulls out his business card and jots "call me" on it and slides it under the door.

He goes to Wilhelm's neighbors and tries that door.

"Sanfield Police, I got some questions."

An old woman opens the door with the chain still in.  She is wearing a pale green bath robe and coke bottle glasses, a living stereotype of an old woman.  All she was missing was a pink shower cap.  She looks at Knox through the crack, he is much taller then she is.

"What ever you're selling I don't want any!"

She yells at him in a gruff tone.

*Knox grumps to himself and flashes his badge*

"Sanfield Police, mam, I have some questions about your neighbor.  An officer Wilhelm," He puts an emphasis on the word officer, "seems one of our own is missing and I'm heading up the investigation.  Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated."

*He tucks the badge back into his coat pocket.*

"I was wondering when you noticed Wilhelm went missing, has he been back to his apartment at all recently, did he have any company in the last few weeks.  Just anything you can think of that would help out the investigation."

The room reeks of cat urine.  Knox might wonder how this old woman has even the stamina to stand at the moment.  She reaches for her huge coke bottle glasses, and looks him over.

"I didn't ask for room service," she yells at him.  She waddles over to the table as he flashes his badge, grabbing her cane.

"Who are you," she yells at him again while he speaks.  Using the cane to get closer, she continues to inspect him, as well as her surroundings.  "Where am I? Where is Arnie?"

*He keeps his badge up in front of him, as if to remind her he's a cop in case she forgets while he's talking to her.*

"Sanfield police, mam.  I got some questions about your neighbor from across the hall.  He's missing.  Can anything happen recently?  Loud noises from over there wake you up? Doors slamming? Anything you can remember from the last few weeks"

*His head pounds slowly as he can feel a headache coming on, he might just be barking up the wrong tree*

The old woman starts freaking out at the mention of a missing person and the man holding up a shiney object.

"WHY IS EVERYTHING A MYSTER?!" she yells as she starts scrambling around her room with her cane, smacking things left and right, making her way to Knox. "I want to go home, why are you conspiring against me?"

She moves close enough to Knox and takes a swing with her cane.

The old woman produces a mighty swing, but with out her glasses she has no depth perception and misses completly.  Loosing her footing she slips on her rug and falls, hitting her head on a table, knocking her unconscious and producing a pool of blood on the floor.

*Knox stands their for a moment taking in what just happened, dumbfounded*

"What the fuck is wrong with these people?"

*He bends down and tilts the woman's head to get an idea of how bad she hurt herself*

The old woman is loosing a lot of blood, and probably has a broken neck.  There is a large gash on the side of her head were blood is seeping out.  If she doesn't recieve aid soon, she will die.

*Knox runs his plump hand through his greasy hair nervously.  Then pulls out his cellphone and dials 911*

"This is detective Knox, there's been an accident at... *he rattles off the name of the apartments and the address* send one down here fast"
