Jillian calls the Estates once more.. but not to Valentine this time... Rather, to Ms. Moreau..

She waits patiently for the woman to answer.

Ms. Moreau is usually rather difficult to contact, having erected multiple communicative barriers around herself. As usual, it is her receptionist who answers the phone, ready to give whoever is on the other end a polite brush-off. However, when the caller identifies herself as one Jillian Bryant, she is simply asked to hold as the call is transferred.

Having only just returned from the Hospital debacle which only served to reinforce Sasha's disdain of leaving the towers, to say nothing of interacting with other people, she stares wearily at the phone on her desk for a moment before answering it.

"Ms Moreau speaking."

"Ms. Moreau, Jillian Bryant calling. I am in need of your.. connections."

Yes, she's launching right into the important matters.

"I'm sure you have seen the news of the.. Mishap... of Ms. Kara Miya. I have no doubt that it has been partially dealt with, but my main concern is getting that story out of the news. I am well aware that you have some great connections here in the city. I myself have quite a few, but since I have been out of town for so many months, I fear that my connections are rusty. I am simply requesting that you call anyone that you know in order to get that story out of the news. I apologize for rambling on about this, but we have no time to waste."

"I appreciate you not beating around the bush Ms. Bryant, I begin to see why the Regent is so fond of you, but the apology was not necessary, had I felt you were repeating yourself, I would simply have transferred you back to my Secretary."

"I can assure you that I am already aware of the situation, as you surmised, and I will see to it that this is handled effectively as opposed to expediently. I have seen to the Jeweler myself, and have an expert putting together a special report on the matter as we speak. The little cowgirl junkie I must leave in the hands of Mr. Vanderweyden."

Certainly one as bright and well informed as Jillian could have deduced most of this without much trouble. So why was she really calling? Before she ends the call, Sasha will uncharacteristically offer the Femme Fatale another moment of her time.

"Was there something... else you wished to discuss Ms. Bryant?"

"I had no doubt that you were already on top of this, I just wanted to make sure. It was a frusterating moment when I called one of my previous media contacts and found out that he no longer worked there, so it was imperative, since I could not handle it myself, that I heard from the person who was handling it. I know you are a busy woman, but I thank you for the moment you gave me. It certainly put me more at ease with the situation. I won't take up any more of your time, but thank you. It was a pleasure speaking with you. I'm sure we'll see much more of each other before too long."

"I see. Well, I must say, I am glad you are back in town. It is good to know that I am not the only one keeping watch."  

She does not offer to help with Jillian's loss of contacts, as she presumably could, but she does sound genuine in her appreciation. Perhaps she simply feels that Jillian is completely capable of resuming her former influence without need of a handout and feels it might be insulting. Or perhaps she is just stingy.

"Keep an eye on the news," she adds, almost jubilantly "there should be a satisfactory resolution to this matter airing any time now."

"A pleasure as always Ms. Bryant, I look forward to seeing you at the next event.

"Have a good evening Ms. Moreau."

And thens he hangs up... with a satisfactory sigh to herself.
