As the night passes, I summon my apprentices. Some are quick to my call, others take their time perturbed to being summoned away from their pursuits, it is good for them to be frustrated occasionally. I bide my time not speaking until they have all arrived. I draw forth an ominous letter and stand before them all. "This is an invitation to the Prince's court to all whom wish to attend. I will be there and will take notice of those whom are absent. Studies are but a single part of your continuing education and social dynamics amongst our kind are occasionally dangerous. I will look forward to your personnel explanations concerning your attendance forth with. We will then start our precautions that must be done, to better our clan, our brothers and ourselves." With that said, I dismiss them noting their individual reactions. I concentrate upon the Chantry, feeling it, knowing it. I locate all within and work upon knowing whom is knocking upon my door before they actually do. Calling out their name to enter. As expected, some are deeply engrossed in studies they can not pry themselves away from. Some few though, accept knowing well that whatever small reward for attendance might just move them over their brother and allow them a slight advantage within the pyramid. We will hope they do not fail me, one can easily slip when trying to overreach their place, and a fall such as that can sometimes be deadly.

I attend to the Regent's call.  One of the first to answer the summons as usual.  I listen carefully to his words and watch his actions and expressions equally as carefully, reading all hidden messages he may be providing.  He typical requires me at court and I always enjoy attending.  It will be fun to see everyone else's reactions, which I watch with care as he speaks.

Later on that evening I dress in the colors the Regent himself normally favors and knock upon his door waiting for him to bid me to enter.  I will of course be attending the Court, and I am sure he has no doubt of that.  He did request personnel explanations, though,  and I am never one to disappoint.

A summons from the Regent is never to be ignored.  Not even for such research as I am currently involved in.  Carefully marking my place and suspending my current work, I quickly make myself presentable and move to answer his call.  I will be sure to remind the acolytes of the need to attend their Regent, above even their assigned studies.

Listening to his announcement, I maintain my usual bland and stony expression.  Another turn at court... How very unproductive.  Oh well, it must be done.  Perhaps I will find opportunity to field test some of our most recent advances?  Regardless, I will attend.  Not one to waste time, I make my intent clear.  "I will attend court as you request my Regent.  Will we be needing any particular mystical preparations prior to the event?"  I will offer a short bow and await the words of my Regent.

Common sense is an oxymoron

"Reginald you are more than capable of taking whatever you feel is necessary for our safety. If you need my presence or thaumaturgical abilities let me know and I can assist. Most of our kine will be in attendance though so I do not foresee any extraordinary precautions," thinking to myself how he is always prepared."I believe Dahlia will be acting as keeper for the event, so taking that into consideration, a small amount of minor wards might be useful if anything unexpected should occur. I shall leave the matter in your hands, we can prepare on the night before."

I am awaiting the apprentices responses when I hear a knock at the door, "Come in Jillian, I appreciate your patience in allowing Reginald to stay after the meeting. I had assumed you would be accompanying us on this outing as it does seem to be your calling", I motion her to take a seat opposite my walnut desk."Is there anything I need to be made aware of for court?"
