Located in the downtown area the Library is both ancient and sprawling. Where most cities have a few libraries sanfield has only the one. It is a civil war era stone construction that is still in the process of being modernized.

It seems there is always plumbing and electrical work being done here so some areas are always off limits to the public.

The inside boasts a high domed ceiling and a collection with books older than most of the cities kindred.

There are public reading areas as well as small private study rooms, a bank of computers offer public internet access, there is access to microfilms, newspapers and periodicals and even a wing devoted to childrens literature.

Far in the back there is a small supply closet with a tiny symbol etched into the doorknob. If a sleeper, kindred or anyone but an awakened mage opens this door they see an array of mops and cleaning products, maybe the odd pin up girl or sweaty janitor; but when an awakened mage touches the handle and charges the symbol just right it opens up to a wide staircase leading to the Hermetics lab and secret gathering place.

Upon decending the staircase the mage would find himself at a great oaken door, covered in symbols, hermetic runes, warding seals and other features that anyone but a hermetic would find indecipherable.  

Passing through this door would lead to a large meeting hall a great table and 10 chairs surround the table, each chair holds the ancient alchemic symbol for the spheres, Life, Matter, Prime.....but the tenth sits at the head of the table, symbol-less, the great mystery.

This place is large, larger than you would think possible for an underground haven for mages, there are hallways leading to empty rooms, locked doors that appear to have been sealed, blocked hallways, and windows that look out on expanses that you have never seen on earth.  The main room and hallways are all lit by torches, they have been burning for centuries, and there is one special flame, burning white, that sits at the center of the table.

Adjacent to the main chamber you will find two doors unlocked (that you don't remember being unlocked before).  One room contains a modest living space, chair, comfortable bed, and nightstand all adorn this small space.  The other door seems to contain a moderate library, and the other materials and reagents needed for a Hermetic to do his or her work.  There is a modest node here, though it's location has yet to be discovered.
