Most that meet me would likely assume that my apartment in the heights is such a place for me, when in reality it's simply a home, like any other sleeper in this tired and aging city, it's where my clothes are, where I park my car...
No the place I call "Sanctum" resides under an ancient library in the suburbs of Sanfield. In an old Hermetic "safehouse" as it were, resides my books, my Circles, and the protections one like me must have. Some simple wards which are renewed by my daily rituals keep me safe, and alert me of those that try and enter. I'm sure many of you have heard of these beings called "Hallows". These spirits are those which choose to take up residence in a magus' Sanctum or home, and as such for a somewhat symbiotic relationship with him or her. Most sleepers just attribute the presence of this spirit to a feeling of "home" or "security" but when most sleepers enter a mage's Sanctum, one of these spirits, if in residence, is keenly aware of the unawakened's presence, and if friend will do it's best to make them feel welcome, and if foe lead that person to have a very uncomfortable visit.
Well, I think I may have rambled a bit. The place I call sanctum used to be home to (what I'd guess to be) the many Hermetics that took up residence here, likely during the Great War. This place has a Hallow, it is ancient, and it is wise. I've yet to meet or converse with it, but it knows me likely better than i know it. It is sometimes this feeling that allows me to sleep through the nightmares...
A few magnetic door alarms for the door upstairs (convieniently wired into the Library's electrical system) make sure that no one enters unannounced when the alarm is set. I've yet to explore this place fully, it seems that entering one hallway puts me back in the main room, but I can sense no magick at work. This place has mysteries of it's on, secrets that only the walls can tell, and hopefully one day I will be able to share in those, but at this point, it is my Haven, my Sanctum, my Home, and I will guard it as it guards me.
