Daisy found the Dojo not too easily, but then when was something worth-while so easy?

Stepping over some homeless man, who grunts and then shifts a few feet over to make room for Daisy, he looks up at the door.

His gaze falls over the kanji and thought knits his brows.

He fusses, his fingers moving to wring the edge of his scarf. He looks down at himself, his shoes are brand new...nice sneakers that Jacques bought him. His jeans are stylish, the hem shrugs gently at his ankles. His T-shirt is one of the ones Jacques had bought for him after he told him not to, he likes it because it looks like something Jacques would not have bought on his own; it's crayon orange with the image of an eclipse in black and grey, the tiny lettering across the front slash though the design reading 'battle for the sun'. Even though he's wearing a jacket he shivers. Does he even want to be here? It's been a while since he's had a lesson...

But the belt shoved into the pocket of his jacket reminds him that it's worth doing. He reaches in and touches it then draws in a deep breath and rings the buzzer.

'Ow...' he grunts at the small jolt and shakes his hand.

Absentmindedly he looks over her shoulder. No, no one who knows him as Daisy would realize it's him, dressed like a boy and sans make-up.

As he makes his way out onto the street after his breakfast and relaxing drawing time he hears the buzzer and walks around to the front of the building. he takes in the young man at the door and moves up behind him.

" Is there something I could help you with? I am not sure Toshi is up and about yet."

Daisy moves to face the young man, he takes a step back and looks down at his feet, almost shyly. 'Yah, uh...I jus' wanted to see the...uh...' dark eyes move up and he looks upon the other's face.

There's a pause, perhaps slightly nervous. Daisy draws in a breath before continuing,'I'm lookin' fer lessons,' he blinks, long, dark lashes touch. 'Is there someone I can see for lessons?' Before I chicken out...

"Toshi will be more then able to help you as I said I think he is either out or not up and about yet. If you would like to wait we could use my apartment above the dojo I wouldn't mind talking to him as well."

He studies this guy trying to take in what is up with this guy. Last time someone was sent here for lessons it was himself. Wonder what is up with this guy.

For a moment he hesitates, then finally nods to the offer, 'yah, sure,' another nod, 'I can wait, got time.' He shrugs single-shoulderedly and gives Kovacs a small, delicate smile.

Smiling back rather sheepishly he leads Daisy around the back adn up into his busted ass apartment.

"sorry its so busted up around my place. guess Toshi had a rough tenant before me. Come in come in. Would you like some tea or something?"

The door is shoddy and the railing is broken but other wise the place feels kind of homey. There are multiple drawings on the coffee table.

He follows Kovacs up to his falling-apart building, he looks around as they enter, but he does not look down at the place; he smiles, 'It's cozy. Even broken down thin's have got some sort of style to them, wouldn't ya say?'

A nod, then he lifts his hand to brush away a lock of dark hair, 'tea would be nice, thanks...no sugar.'

Daisy moves to the table and looks at the drawings, his fingertips hover around the edges, 'Toshi's the guy in charge, I assume?' Dark eyes rise and look upon his new acquaintance.

In the small kitchenette he bangs around some stuff as he starts a tea kettle.

" I am not sure he would have anything to be in charge of. he runs the dojo but i just rent from him after a fashion."

As the pot whistles he is thankful daisy doesn't need sugar as he is totally out of all food supplies besides tea.

'Well, uh...I need some lessons. I think I'm rusty,' Daisy shrugs single-shoulderedly. He hasn't trained in so long he thinks he may have forgotten it all, but that is not logical, not after so much hard work.

Returning with the tea kettle he places it on the table by his drawings.

" I am sure he could help you with that it is one of the things he does you know."

He would pour Daisy a cup of tea.

"hope you take it straight havn't made it to the store in a while. I am Kovacs by the way."

Daisy nods, he's curious as to meet the other man.

'Yah, straight is great, I never put sugar in my drinks, messes up the harsh taste they leave in your mouth with too much unneeded sweetness.' Daisy takes the tea, 'thanks,' he lifts it to his lips and blows on it carefully, but doesn't take a sip. 'It's a pleasure ta meet ya, Kovacs...' he does't offer his own name just yet, 'is that..uh...Russian...Romanian?' A gentle tilt of his head trying to detect any accent.

"My family is oriental. Though I do believe that Kovacs has its roots in the Romanian culture."

He sips his own tea as he begins to puzzle out the details of this strange guy.

He nods as he looks at the other, 'yah? Where ya from? Yanno, I'd like to go ta Asia...' he shrugs single-shoulderedly, 'maybe one day...who knows, eh?'

He stands by the table and touches the rim of his cup to his lips feeling its warmth. 'You've been into the martial arts long, Kovacs?'

Sipping his own tea Kovacs will study this unusual man.

" Well actually I don't study with Toshi he is kind of my landlord."

A gentle raise of a brow, 'so, yer not in the karate?' Daisy licks his lips and looks down at his hot, steamy tea. 'Man, it's been so long since I've done it I think this Master Toshi may well toss me out on my butt...' he's obviously freaked out at the thought that all the years of learning may have gone down the drain, but that's just silly Daisy insecurities.

'Uh...ya been renting here long?' He looks over the rim of his tea as he touches it to his lips making small-talk.

"Only about two days so far but its nice better then a roof top any day."

He looks down at his tea as well and takes a slow sip.
