Amanda will find Deirdre leaning against the outside wall of the club. The place is still closed and boarded up, but a sign promises the place will re-open "soon." Deidre is in her usual nondescrïpt black jeans and shirt. As Amanda pulls up, Deirdre fishes a cigarette from the pocket of her jacket, the white sliver standing out against the black of her biker gloves. She stickes the cigarette in her mouth without lighting it, and puts shoves the pack back in her pocket. She looks pale, but that just may be poor lighting and the fact that that much black will make anyone look sickly.

Lenor was pale and most of the gothic types around here are pale...whether cosmetically or just pigmentally challenged. She sees the woman and give her an up turned nod of recognition. "You must be Diedre," she smiles to her, studying her as she approached. She extends her hand to her. "I'm Amanda."

Cute enough, Deirdre thinks as Amanda walks up. She has that soft, tender sort of look that she's attracted to from time to time. However, Deirdre doesn't deign to shake Amanda's hand when she offers it. "Deirdre," is the only thing she gives in way of a greeting. "What's going on with Lenor?" She hadn't heard from her for awhile. While it had been something of a disappointment other things had quickly swept the issue from her mind. The first few nights she anxiously awaited Lenor's call...and then finally dismissed it. She was old enough to know better than crying over spilled milk...or another lover walked out. She'd thought there had been something different about Lenor, but then again, she'd thought that before.

She blinks slightly, drawing her hand back and behind her head. She gives the woman an embarassed grin, laughing a bit. "My bad," she looks back to Deirdre. "Um, well I was hoping you could help me with that. See, she's missing...I know she is. I knew deep in my gut something was wrong when I found her precious bike abandoned and no sign of her....I don't know why I haven't gone to the police yet, except they probably couldn't find their ass with both hands." She shrugs lightly. "Then, they found Desmond in the park with his throat slit...him and Lenor were friends." She clears her throat, fighting back emotions. "Makes sense ya know, he was a real good man. But, I think someone was after him...this weird ass cult-like church. He had some problems with them. That place does horrible things under the guise of kindness and peace." She thinks back to the beaten up girl at the soup kitchen and snarls. She blinks and looks to the other apologetically. "I ramble when I get nervous."

Deirdre might have heard about the preacher found murdered. She's not really the news-reading type and she almost never watches television or the like. But the connection with Lenor is a little disturbing. She doesn't know what to really think of the mention of the cult. An ominous inkling rises up in her, and dark suspicions begin floating to the top. Something she hasn't felt in long, long while begins creeping over Deirdre. She can't quite describe what it is, not in any certain terms. Call it a "protective instinct," but she is now quite worried about Lenor and what she may have gotten herself in to. She knows enough about Lenor to know that her...interests...may have sparked interest of their own, and not from any particularly benign parties. A dark cloud begins roiling in Deirdre's mind, and she finds her fists unconsciously curling. If anyone... But she wants to investigate those suspicions on her own, and having Amanda involved in it might not only be a hindrance, but could very well be dangerous -- for both Deirdre and Amanda. She wants to help Lenor, but her first duty is to her own kind, and even if they aren't involved, she hardly wants Amanda prying into her own business. 2008-12-05 18:20:54 Deirdre rolls 6 dice to Manipulation + Subterfuge 10,5,8,10,10, 8 (5 successes) "And ye didn' think t' inquire with th' cops if'n the two cases might be related?" There is an annoyed, slightly peeved tone to Deirdre's tone. "If I was in yer shoes I woulda went straight t' them. Who knows, ye could very well be next." She steps up to Amanda, her gloved hand coming up and cupping Amanda's chin, fingers squeezing her cheeks none too gently. "We wouldn' wan' tha' pretty little face t' get all slashed up now would we?" She smiles a hungry, chilling, mocking smile. "So maybe if ye were a smart girl, ye'd get hold o' the cops an' let them do their job instead of stickin' yer neck out on the line."

Since Deirdre is close, she might notice a faint scar across Amanda's plump apple cheek. As her fingers squeeze those cheeks, there is a sudden and obvious change in Amanda's demeanor. Her eyes narrow and she bares her teeth in an angry grin. Her hands come up and shove the other back from her. "Don't ever fucking touch me..." She steps back from the woman, snatching her skateboard from her backpack, she lays it on the ground carefully. 2008-12-06 09:22:00 Amanda rolls 4 dice to perc+empath 4,5,3,7 (1 success) Deirdre's words ring true, she feels like an idiot for waisting both of their time. She wants to snipe back with what she really knows about them. What she read about them in her diary. She stops and looks to the other before stepping on her board. "Lenor really liked you. She and I were pretty close for co-workers. We hung out a lot. I always thought she was a good judge of character...I guess I was wrong." She sighs and kicks off on her board, skating off and away from the goth girl. She sniffles, tears in her eyes. She can't believe her stupidity. She still thinks the cops won;t help. She KNOWS weird shit happens in this town. She knew of Lenor interests. Maybe some vampire wanna-be coaxed her out....She stops as something comes to mind. "Oh, if you do decide to be helpful....at all....someone called the radio station, a young woman. Read her sad vampiric poetry and told her to meet them at the gardens. Perfect bait for someone obcessed with undead parasites." She watches Deirdre for a moment, before kicking off again and skating into the darkness without another word.

And with that, her suspicions are all but confirmed. Deirdre keeps her face blank and emotionless, but suddenly the mocking little act she'd put on to intimidate and mislead Amanda seems entirely all too cruel. She regrets it, but its too late for her to change it. Switching face would only open herself up to weakness. 2008-12-06 17:17:42 Deirdre rolls 6 dice to Manipulatio + Performance 8,6,7,3,3, 2 (3 successes) "Call the police. Stay out of it yerself," are the last words she calls back at Amanda as the girl moves off.
