What had happened?  Easy enough, yet so embarrasing for the sweet Rose
Basically?  wrong kind of club and guy.
Well, was she supposed to know there was a gay bar in Sandfield?
Guess not.  Cause thats the one she went into.  She wasn't the only female in there, not by a long shot.  
Ok, she could have been a  lot more observant.  Especially since that gorgeous hunk that caught her eye was 'with' someone.  
Her first sally fell on rocky ground.  
Actually, she got a look, a slight smile a comment of 'hey, you look a lot like Stevie Nicks, my boyfriend and I enjoy her music'

Well, Rose does not need to be hit over the head, repeatedly with facts.  Another look around the bar, then a glance to the bartender.  Ok...so his loafers are so light he's floating on air.  Uh huh...then a look to the 'ladies' in the club.

Not all of them are ladies.

Rose's failures have caught the eye of at least one lady. She is a petite thing with a scarf around her face. Her drink sits untouched and she is oddly free of the movements and twitches that seem to define humanity.

Her eyes lock on Rose with a chilling effect. Rose will not recognize her in the slightest...

There are two things a girl can do in this situation.  Brave it out, and look like its just another night on the town, or run sobbing into the night.

A couple of decades back, Rose would have choses the second course, tonight, a smile, a cheerful shrug, then finds a seat to people watch for a bit.

If she can get inspiration from a long hideous court meeting, who knows what kind of inspiration she can get from here.

Well.....except for the lady who's glaring at her.....since she is staring at Rose, Rose can always look back at her, a slightly raised eyebrow, for just the briefest second, she might consider using a discipline, but decides against it.  After all, the way things are going, that too could turn against her.

After the last week, Rose went back to her usual strategy.  As well as her usual bar.  A couple of people there had been her 'donors' in the past, and seemed happy enough to see her, so, she got with one of them, letting him inveigle her into a game of pool.  She's no expert, but at least decent.  Using the game to start her own.

Quite cheerfully chatting with him, letting him point out shots she might be able to make.  Actually enjoying the time, even though she was definately beginning to feel a bit hungry.  Upping to a bit of flirting, letting him 'take the lead' so to speak, as she gently led his thoughts by means of body language.

After a while, they leave the pool table, beginning to get to the point of him, hopefully deciding to start 'cutting her from the place' so to speak.  A few dances, some more talk...

Rose will allow him to take her back to her place.  With a short detour, actually to his place.  Good thing he lives alone, and equally good that its a short distance from Diana's apartment.  She'll leave him with a smile, a bit paler, but in good health, and he should be available for a few nips in the future.

A quiet walk back to Diana's apartment, letting herself in and going to the small room already prepared for her.  With a note to her ghoul, letting her know she's there.

That evening, after a shower, a change of clothing, and bringing her other clothing back with her for washing, is back at the store.  Cheerful, fed well enough to deal with people.
