{{Continued from: Soulmates }}

Now, more than ever, Hyde is painfully aware that nothing is free. Though he is perhaps even more aware in this moment of the gnawing hunger in his gut and the apparently mortal -and trapped- shell that the demon left behind. The Nosferatu considers how to answer his questions, or if he even cares to, but as soon as the presence of the demon is gone, so too is the absence of time it seemed to be maintaining. The only clue that Hyde is given is the sudden continuation of the stream of memories from Beauty's very long existence. He doubles over in pain, clutching his head and bellowing from the sudden shock. He can almost swear he hears Beauty's laughter.

“What's the matter monster? My master has no doubt revealed to you that you are not to touch his humble servant. That you are but a helpless pawn before his chosen acolyte. You are wise to fall to your knees before his might, for there...”

Hyde rises, cutting the man short.

“Fer fook's sake man! Shut yer bleedin' cake-hole.' He says to the man, who only moments ago had the air of fathomless power around him, but now may as well be Koko's kitten. Looking deep into the man's eyes, Hyde punctuates the statement by insinuating his Beast on him, seeking to cow him into silence.

2008-12-18 16:23:58Mister Hyde rolls 8 dice to Quell the Beast (Diff 7) 2,1,1,6,6, 4,10,6,7 (failure)

But his Beast is spent, exhausted from its all too recent rampage and refuses to stir from its repose.

“I shall do no such thing monster. You will answer my questions, if you know what is good for you.”

Hyde is almost stunned by the sheer audacity of the man's statements. It has been a very long time since anything with a pulse dared stand up to him in his true form. This of course speaks volumes for what the man is accustomed to dealing with. Hyde begins closing the short distance between them.

“Or what? You'll call yer precious 'master'? You, me ol' chum, 'ave been forsaken, t'were yer master whot brought you 'ere. Take yerself a good look around. You ain't leaving.”

Ahmed's dark eyes dart about the room, finding all of the apparent exits sealed by obstacles well outside his ability to pass with any measure of expediency. You can almost see the hopelessness of the situation dawning on him as he draws the conclusions as to why. Suddenly less brave than before, he tries a new tactic.

“Wait.” he says, holding up his hands, palms out, and unconsciously taking a step back. “I could be of use to you.”

Hyde grins, his lips stretching back over his huge, ever-present fangs. “Of that, I 'ave no doubt chum, no doubt at all.”

Hyde reaches out with a quickness one would never suspect his bulky, awkward form were capable of, wrapping his grotesquely oversized right hand fully around the man's right collarbone and yanking him in close shoving the same forearm into his throat. His other hand worms into his gut and under Ahmed's floating ribs,  pulling as the lead-arm pushes.

2008-12-18 18:00:59Mister Hyde rolls 9 dice to Clinch Damage 5,3,6,6,9, 9,2,7,3 (5 successes) [+5 Potence = 10 bashing. Ahmed's stamina is insufficient to avoid incapacitation.]

Ahmed's ribcage buckles under Hyde's immense strength with a sickening series of pops and crunching noises, causing him to fall limp, and blessedly silent. Hyde will drain him of every drop of blood in his body, it would not do to turn up at a party hungry.

Nature and History do not agree with our conceptions of good and bad; they define good as that which survives, and bad as that which goes under; and the universe has no prejudice in favor of Christ as against Genghis Khan. -Will and Ariel Durant
