Officer Sutton wont call them suspects, but Rose and Diana are treated as such. Sutton drivers them into one of the secure carports and opens the door for them to follow him.

'Im really sorry about this ladies. Standard procedure, you know?'

He apoligizes sheepishly as he opens a holding cell for them to enter.

'You dont have any weapons or drugs do you?'

He asks them both as he presses a button on the wall and speaks into the intercom.

'Hey its Officer Sutton, can i get a detective down here in booking please?'

[Knox, if your interested, i can involve you here.]

'all of my knitting needles are probably gone' *so says Rose, as Diane is keeping a death grip on her hand.  'no, we don't have any weapons'

Rose is trying to remain calm, and trying to calm Diane down as well.  Not an easy task at all.

'Sorry Sutton, all hells broken loose out there tonight, your on your own..'

The far away intercom voice informs him. Officer Sutton sighs and goes around the desk. He will just have to do this himself.

'Ok, im going to take a written statement from you both and then call back to the scene to see if we can release you. Do you both have somewhere to go tonight?'

He asks, passing pads of paper and pens through to them both.

Diane, by this time, has gotten most of her composure back, although the death grip on Rose's hand is still in full force.  She'll nod to the question of somewhere to go, then, suddenly, turn to Rose, with a paniced expression.

Rose will head off the panic with a calm 'yes, we do' Squeezing Diane's hand, which will quiet the girl.  

Both will then take the pads and pens and settle down, where told to, to start writing their version of the nights events.

Rose's will be short, as she did get there at the end of it all.  Merely saying she had been out at a meeting that had run late, then found out her shop had been burned.  She will also mention the fact that they had been informed of a body on the roof, stating she had no idea of how it could possibly of gotten there.  Certainly, neither she, nor her employees had had reason to go up on the roof.

Diane's report will be longer, starting with the statement she had been about to close, when the perpetrator had come in, asked a lot of questions, very few of which had to do with the items in the shop.  Then had demanded the tapestry, taken it, and left.  Shortly after, the explosion and fire.

Also stating she had never been on the roof, and had not known about the body.

When her statement was done.  She would turn it in, then turn a worried expression at the clock.  It was getting awful close to dawn.

Officer Sutton will take their written statements and seal them in an envelope to be sent upstairs.

'Alright. I can call a cab for you two or if youd rather I can give you a ride wherever you need to go tonight.'

Officer Sutton offers.

Rose will give Officer Sutton a thankful look, taking him up on the offer of a ride.
'I would like to make sure Diane gets home, and make sure she's able to rest'  Adding in a soft, 'if you really don't mind?'

Since Diane's been hovering between hysterics and pure panic for the past half hour at least, her concern certainly isn't out of line.  Possibly a bit more concern than usual for employer and employee, not out of line for a friend.

Officer Sutton could care less if they were friends, lovers or just co-workers. Its none of his buisness and he will remain professional and friendly enough that they wont sue him. Sutton will lead Rose and Diana back to the car. They will have to ride in the back again, the passenger seat is taken over by an M-4 Carbine rifle on a stand and a tray for a laptop.

Sutton will ask Rose for directions and take them wherever they request to be. He will make sure to mark the address in his laptop before he departs with one last request.

'Oh, just remember, leaving town before this investigation is resolved would look very bad for the both of you.'

Having Officer Sutton drop them both off at Diane's.  Rose will nod to his last comment.
'I'm sure we'll be staying here' He does have their phone number, address and such.  

Gets Diane into her apartment, and gets a bit more of the story, like the parts Diane couldn't tell the police.  

Rose will be able to get a more coherent story out of her, at least, now that Diane is not worried sick that Rose will be stuck in a jail cell and about to become ash.
