Solomon makes his way through the squalid wilderness of the Slums, emerging in the lot where the Asylum once stood. He has been pondering the coming battle and his musing have led him here, to where it all began. He scans the area, his supernatural sight cutting through the darkness like a knife.

The half of the Asylum that wasnt brought down by the Sabbat trap stands as an empty shell, baring all its secrets to the night air and leaning precariously close to the rubble at its side. The entire lot is cordoned off with tattered crime scene tape but its clear enough to Solomon that beyond the rats and a few cautious neighborhood kids looking for a place to smoke weed noone has re-inhabited this place or spent any good amount of time here...

He slowly, but directly makes his way to the corpse like remains of a mad giant. Reaching deep within the darkness, the darkness surrounding his light, like smoke, he breaths deep, exhaling back into the void. The smoke courses out, drifting, searching.

Like little flames off in the darkness Solomon can feel his clanmates. There are obviously more Malkavians in the city than are recognized by the Camarilla.

After a moment of focus one of the flames will become brighter, as if by a response. There is a clanmate closeby, judging from the tugging feelings, possible even in whats left of the Asylum...

Solomon approaches the rubble slowly, sword in hand, ever wary of danger.

Solomon will be led into the part of the Asylum that is still standing. The gaping maw of the building is like a mocking face. The only auras he picks up are fleeting and brief. Rats or racoons running past his field of vision.

[Aura perception requires a subject so its use wont reveal anything he could see with his heightened senses until he can visibly see it.]

Solomons intensely focused eyes will see the multiple fractures in the walls and exposed supports. The remains of the asylum are highly unstable. One wrong step could bring the entire building crashing down.

As he moves through the hallway towards the blip in his head he will find a staircase that must lead to a basement. He can go down about six feet, but it appears where the stairs would make a hairpin turn and go down once more has collapsed. Without extensive digging and risking another cave-in the stairs are impassable.

Whatever blip in his head Solomon is tracing is likely sealed past the cave-in...

Solomon paces back and forth amongst the rubble for some time, pondering his options. After some deliberations, he decides that he has two choices. Time is of the essences, so he opts for the first one.

2009-01-06 14:12:44 Solomon rolls 5 dice to Manipulation+Performance (Diff 7) 5,9,1,5,2 (failure)

He attempts to mask his form, but fails miserably. His appearance remains that of a iron masked man, garbed in trench coat and fedora.

He makes his way to one of the various mechanical speaking tubes, located conveniently around the city. After inserting several shiny metal coins, he enters the 10 digit numerical code that Mr. Hyde gave him.

After a moment, the receiver begins to ring.

[Sorry Solomon, I lost this thread]

The phone only rings twice before it is answered. There is a loud, crackling static for several seconds like someone on the other end were trying to cram their receiver into a plastic bag, or hastily remove it from one. When the noise ceases, the deep voice that answers echoes multiple times with each word and the sound of vast amounts of running water can be heard in the background.

"Ooo in'na bloody 'ell iz'zis?" The voice demands, obviously not recognizing the incoming number.

"Solomon."

He speaks clearly and deliberately, like he is talking to a child or a mute. He does not understand the magic of this contraption and hopes it is working properly.

"I am at the Asylum. I have found... someone. I require your assistance."

Hyde pauses, looking around and getting his bearings in relation to the Asylum and the extensive damage caused to the tunnels in that area the last time he was there. It takes him only a moment to map out a route in his head before he answers.

"Right. I can be there in twent'y. Where should I look fer ya?"

He does not bother pressing the madman for details, he has dealt with the Malks long enough to know that all of them speak in riddles. If he did not need Hyde's assistance, he would not have asked and Hyde can assess the situation for himself once he arrives far better than trying to puzzle through Solomon's words. Besides, he has been meaning to track down the man in the iron mask anyway.

"North west corner of the building. I'll be waiting."

Their is a click and then the dial tone sounds off.

Solomon makes his way back towards the Asylum. We awaits Hyde, just where he said he would be, though he masks his form to avoid unwanted detection. You never know who might be wandering about. [Unseen Presence]

He keeps his eye's pealed, waiting for his associate's arrival.

Arriving only a few minutes later than the twenty minutes he quoted due to an unforeseen blockage in one of the tunnels, Hyde will drop his own powers of concealment a polite ten feet from Solomon to avoid rudely surprising his cohort and greet him.

"Oi. Is'sa noice noight in'nit?"

How Hyde evaded Solomon's vigilant gaze up until he revealed himself is easily explainable, but how he pierced the Malkavian's supernatural cloaking as though it wasn't in use may leave some question in the masked man's mind.

Hyde looks around the expansive grounds of the Asylum, virtually abandoned for a hundred yards in every direction save a handful of trees and small wildlife that have taken refuge in the unattended overgrowth of the abandoned compound.

"I never realized 'ow peaceful it was over' ere inn'is part a town. A guy could get used ta this kind'a quiet."

Realizing that Solomon did not ask him here for the scenery, Hyde makes an effort to focus on the matter at hand.

"So wos'is bus'niss 'bout findin' someone out 'ere any'ow?"

2009-02-05 02:17:29 Solomon rolls 7 dice to Willpower [Don't flinch!] 2,4,7,5,3, 9,10 (3 successes)

It is a tribute to Solomon's iron like will that he does not move a muscle as Hyde's familiar voice resounds from behind. Though, truth be told, he was about a hair width away from having drawn and attacked on instinct alone.

He spins, bowing deeply to the elder gentleman in the same fluid motion.

"Good evening to you, sir."

Solomon pauses a moment, surveying the scenery... and his ally. Quite a puzzle, this Mr. Hyde. Instead of answering, Solomon nods his head south east. Turning, he begins leading his companion along.

"Their is someone trapped in the basement."

As surreal as their interactions have always been and as odd as Hyde finds this Malkavian to be, there is no denying a certain charm that comes from a blend of his dedication to manners and succinctness.

Hyde will follow Solomon's lead, fully expecting to be employed as an excavation tool, but knowing that the likelihood of anything but a remnant of the failed siege being trapped down there is slim enough to make it a worthwhile labor.

He only hopes it is not yet another trap...

Picking their way through the rubble, Solomon guides Hyde towards the caved in stairwell. As they walk, he begins to speak without looking back at his companion.

"I have been unable to locate Miss Damita as of late... Some claim she has fled the city... Fear of the Sabbat... So I hear..."

He continues advancing through the desolate ruins. The strange scent of madness he first encountered when happening upon the place seems to have dissipated some. Still, though, a taint lingered. It was faint, but he felt it in his bones. It reminded him of his Grandmother. The smell, like whiskey and stale cigarettes. It haunted him.

Hyde will move right in along side the Malkavian, comfortably working at moving the large pieces of rubble which Solomon cannot manage on his own and seemingly happy to be doing this sort of thing with someone at his side. He misses the early days here in Sanfield, when his nights were filled with nothing but constructing underground archways and tunnels alongside the other Nosferatu, some of them still here and others long gone.

"Ya mean that sour-faced ol' Battle-Axe?" He says, pausing with a huge hunk of concrete held over his head. "Bellissa?"

He tosses the chunk aside to the new pile the two Kindred are creating. "Good riddance ta bad rubbish, I say. I don't imagine anyone'll shed any tears for 'er." He continues to dig around in the rubble with his companion for a moment before something dawns on him and he stops to look at Solomon with that 'I've got a disembodied lightbulb floating over my head' look on his face.

"You know, that don't make no damn sense. She knew we were unner siege when she got 'ere, mater of fact, I'd wager that was a big part'a the reason she came. An' besides, why would she go ta all that trouble ta set up a club an' a church just ta skip town? Way I unnerstand it, she ain't even finished remodeling."

"They are simply rumors."

Solomon states flatly, never pausing in his work. He continues hoisting rubble, his undead muscles ignoring the strain. He glances sidelong at Hyde, speaking offhandedly.

"Did you say a church?"

Hyde slowly raises an eyebrow at the 'just rumors' comment, but says nothing. Rumors are nothing less than the intangible force that keeps the world spinning, or at least the world of 'men' but he does not expect someone not of his clan to understand this as he does.

"Yeah, a church, or somethin' like 'at. I know she 'ad to 'ave th' buildin' re-zoned fer some sort'a non-profit er tax-exempt malarkey. I didn't look too far in'ta it, I just like to keep track of who claims what an' Ol' Mister Grey spotted 'er goin' in an out of the place quite a bit after it was purchased. Arturo could prob'ly tell you more if yer that intrested, he keeps pretty tight books on the local gerrymandering."

He ponders the Nosferatu's words as he heaves the heavy stones about. Mayhaps the harpy was held up in whatever church Hyde was speaking of. Only further investigation would tell.

"I have yet to have words with the Toreador elder... but you say that your colleague, Mr. Grey, knows of this church's location?"

Hyde pries loose a massive hunk of concrete, laced with dozens of jutting pieces of rebar it must weigh in excess of a thousand pounds. Turning slightly, he sets the hunk down to the side and turns to look at Solomon again, blissfully ignorant of what might be lurking just beneath the remaining debris.
