2009-02-28 10:31:36 Radiation rolls [dex:3, brawl:3, +2 rear attack] 8 dice to Shock troop attack 3,4,3,2,10, 4,5,4 (1 success)

2009-02-28 10:32:06 Radiation rolls 6 dice to S.T. DMG 5,3,4,8,10, 6 (3 successes) +1 potence. Rounds down to 2 damage Hyde can soak.

When Hyde removes the final piece that was blocking the tunnel and turns his back he will be struck from behind. There will be a loud clang as his metal armor is impacted by long bone spikes- looming out of the darkness from a pale arm and a half concealed face with odd bones protruding from the skin like spiky armor. Solomon will recognize this half concealed monstrosity as one of the creatures that attacked him when he first scouted the crumbling asylum.

2009-02-28 10:40:11 Shock troop rolls 1 die for Initiative 3 (initiative roll) 3+ 6= 9.

[Initiatives please.]

2009-02-28 10:55:00Mister Hyde rolls 9 dice to Soak 9,8,2,6,9, 10,8,1,7 (6 successes)

The blow glances harmlessly off of Hyde's steel carapace, causing him to quickly spin around to face one of the few things he has ever seen in all of his years that is easily uglier than himself. His eyes begin to burn with hatred as he realizes what this thing must be.

2009-02-28 16:05:54 Solomon rolls 1 die for Initiative 7 (initiative roll)+8= 15

Solomon leaps at the horrid monstrosity, drawing his blade and swinging in the same swift movement.

[Burn 1 blood to STR]

2009-02-28 16:15:02 Solomon rolls 7 dice to Dex+Melee; -1dice for draw+attack 10,7,2,8,6, 8,2 (5 successes)
2009-02-28 16:16:15 Solomon rolls 9 dice to Sword damage 7,4,8,7,8, 9,10,7,1 (6 successes)

The cold steel sails through the air, whistling softly. Guided by Solomon's righteous will, it bites deeply of the undead abomination.

Hyde is already lunging for this aberration when Solomon's much faster reflexes flash an arc of steel across it's chest. Trusting that this Malkavian's obsessive determination has carried over into his swordsmanship as it has his patterns of speech and behavior, Hyde does not fear being struck by friendly fire and presses in, deftly sweeping in and around, exploiting the opening, using his formidable raw power to lock his opponent down and stifle any movement.

[Soak vs 6 damage from Solomon]
2009-03-26 11:10:30 Radiation rolls [stamina:3, +1 for carpace armor] 4 dice to Shock Troop soak 2,2,4,3 (failure)

Solomons blade strikes true and nearly cleaves the horrific beast in two. It cries out in shock and pain, a maddenning, tongue chewing bellow and falls right into Hydes powerful arms.

[Soak vs 5 damage from Hyde.]
2009-03-26 11:10:45 Radiation rolls [stamina:3, +1 for carpace armor] 4 dice to Shock troop soak #2 1,4,10,6 (1 success)

Hydes mammoth strength clinch is enough to crush what little life was remaining out of the shock troop. The abomination must have been relatively newly created; it does not fall to dust but instead falls into a state of loose decay, flesh becoming soft, skin turning purple and organs going septic. The smell will be awful, but the danger has past.

[Note to self: Add six more shock troops to next encounter.]

Solomon takes a moment to stare disdainfully down at the horrid monster before wiping the sick ichor from his blade onto his coat. This thing shared something with him. Blood? No, it was more than that. It was something deeper, something less material... and more powerful. He wondered how many more of these beasts would have to be put down before he could deal with the unholy hands that had created them. Surely, he would rend that ghastly creature in twine for twisting his family into such pitiful abominations.

Sheathing the sword, he looks up at Hyde, his tone even.

"It is a shame we could not take it alive..."

Hyde's nostrils flare out as his lip curls slightly in a veiled expression of disgust as he lets the thing fall to the ground. His eyes dart up to Solomon as his companion's methodical, monotone voice wrests him from his thoughts.

"Why inna bloody  'ell'd it perish at all?" is his reply before he stoops down to poke a finger into it's open chest cavity, lifting the ribcage to see if a rib or ~something~ went through the heart.

"I've seen our kind take a lot more punishment than that without fallin' apart... goin' inta th' sleep of ages maybe, but not dyin.'"

His eyes return to Solomon once more, somewhat confused, Hyde again responds to the Kook as if he had spoken. "Whatta ya mean take it to th' Blood Wizards? Th' Warlocks?"

"Aye, their sorcerer ways can no doubt shed light on this baffling mystery."

Solomon turns from Hyde, casting his eyes to the looming mountainous horizon. For a moment, he is certain he hears distant thunder somewhere beyond those craggy peaks. His grip tightens around the hilt of his blade as he is awash with a sense of impending doom. He fancies a great storm is coming, a storm of blood and change.

Bearing his thoughts back to the present, he shrugs off the boding sensation. Mayhaps it was just his imagination. Turning back, he firmly meets the Nosferatu's glance.

"Shall I accompany you?"

Hyde studies the masked man for a moment, carefully considering the situation before answering.

"Nah. Not that th' offer in'nt apprecia'ed, ya unnerstand, but I'll 'ave ta go through 'ell an' 'igh wa'er as it is ta get there draggin' that fugly fellow," with this, he gestures back toward the rapidly decomposing corpse "an' anyways, I got some ugly business ta discuss wif th' Regent..." He trails off suddenly, looking intently at the floor as though he were peering far, far away.

"Prolly best if ya weren't involved Ol chap." He says at last, locking eyes with Solomon once more with a sincere expression.

Solomon nods absentmindedly, returning his gaze to distant loci. There was that sound again... a soft rumbling, like a whisper of doom. He has feared that even given the time to prepare, he would still never be ready for what is to come. He allows the thought to tug at his dead heart, urging him into manic action... but only for a moment. Dismissing it like so much perfumed smoke, he brings his mind reeling back to the present.

"I have business as well... Bellisa's church..."

His words trail off as he turns to look at his companion questioningly. Were his visage lay bare, Solomon would no doubt be raising an eyebrow at Mr. Hyde.

Hyde nods once before snagging the wretched dead creature on the floor by one of its legs.

"Right. Th' church. Iss in'na ware'ouse district, not far from the Banshee, th' nightclub whot I mentioned she also owns. I ain't quite sure of the propper address, or the name, but you'll find it on the West end of Paper Street almost at the dead end whot overlooks the bay. There's a Manhole cover, center of th' road, 36 paces to the East of the front door."

He looks into the intense eyes peering out from behind the thin holes in the metal mask, studying him as he speaks. He knows the answer to his question before he even asks, but he asks all the same.

"You want I should draw ya a map? I 'ave a 'ard time givin' directions fer th' surface."

"That won't be necessary."

Solomon bows farewell to his companion, a deep, respectful bow.

"We shall have to do this again sometime."

You might guess that behind that mask hides an amused grin, but it is hard to tell by his monotone words. Without further adieu, he spins on his heels, vanishing into the tenebrous night.

Hyde returns Solomon's bow, tipping his ratty hat to the Malkavian as he does.

"Indeed we shall at that. Godspeed to you, my friend, Godspeed." Hyde says to the darkness where Solomon stood only a moment before.
