Announced at the war court in may was the Shug Monkey's betrayal of the Camarilla. He was seen by his clan elder meeting with Sabbat agents in the catacombs of the city right before the cave ins caused by the explosions in the mountains.

It is not known if he was killed in the tunnel collapses that trapped Beauty for three nights, or if he has escaped.

OOC: This will be very hard one to track, but should you wish to try, shoot me a tactic here and ill give you a roll.

After the War Council, the shame of having a clansmen called out for treason before nearly the entirety of Sanfield’s undead goads Hyde into action like a gadfly. Each little nip making him angrier, each mnemonic flash of a disgusted look from one of the ‘High-clans’ quickening his pace. The inaction of his Elder boiling his blood.

Making his way towards the place where Shug beds-down, Hyde mumbles to himself in a casual, almost conversational tone. “They say that the Shug Monkey tells no lies. Apparently that courtesy is extended to Sabbat infiltrators as well. So why, if he was sooch a fookin’ saint, didn’t any of us know ‘bout his dealings before now?” He stops walking for a moment, stunned by his own question “Perhaps we weren’t asking the right questions.”

Finding himself at the doorway to the Shug’s little shanty, Hyde forces his way inside. Closing his eyes, he imagines himself small and furry, cunning and deft. Hyde fills his lungs with rancid sewer air and Bellows out a call that is much like a dog-whistle, too high for human ears to perceive, but for rats, it rings as a distress call. ((2008-05-18 07:57:42 Hyde rolls 4 dice to Beckoning (Cha+Surv) Rats (Diff 7) 7,8,8,9 (4 successes))

Awaiting their arrival, Hyde Looks around for any sign that the traitor might have been here since the explosion. Though he would guess that the little bastard is buried under several tons of rock somewhere out in the tunnels... ((2008-05-18 09:58:27 Hyde rolls 6 dice to perc+alert (scan room)  6,5,10,6,8, 10 (5 successes).

They arrive in waves, by the dozen, undulating with curiosity. Hyde will make certain that they familiarize themselves with the scent of their quarry, even finding a few who are already familiar with the backstabbing wretch. He will tell them that this one, once a brother, has threatened to bring predators upon them all, to destroy their protectors and allow their children to starve. He will plead with them to seek out the Shug Monkey, be he buried in rubble or wandering freely and report back with anything that they find so that he may rid them once and for all of this self-serving rat snake.

Searching the Shug Monkeys room wont reveal too much. His hut is primitive... he is neither a craftsman like, Nor a techie like Grey, or even a nostalgic throwback like Beauty.

He had a few hidden weapons, some sicle blades and a few carved stakes... maybe he was planning to take out some of his stronger clanmates.. or lead ghouls to the hovel...

The rats wont take longer than a few hours before a messenger is back with a lead for hyde... The creature is excitable and chittering loudly as it comes back into the Hovel…

It is an under appreciated gift to say the least, communing with beasts, any who have tackled the scholarly pursuit of learning a foreign tongue can at least appreciate the myriad nuances of inflection and idiosyncrasies which can only be loosely translated at best. Most of the Kindred that are perfectly content with learning to read the minds of 'higher' life-forms will never understand the language of pure instinct, nor reap the rewards of such creatures that are so undeniably more cunning than we are wont to give them credit for.

"What news my clever neighbor? What have you learned of the one who threatens the safety of our shared nest?"

As usual the creature communicates in a few scattered emotions and images. A familiar smell, The Shug Monkeys dark cloak and an unfamiliar passage, lower than any Hyde would know existed... Probably exposed by the cave-ins…

Grinding the stakes to splinters betwixt his fingers and bending the sickles into unrecognizable scrap, Hyde will urge the creature to come with him for as far as it dares, to show him the way. He will also flip the switch on his earpiece as Grey showed him and give a status report on his findings, general location and direction, should anything go wrong, perhaps his Brood will succeed in his stead.

He when he gets closer to his destination and the rat abandons him, he will tell Grey that he will remain live for the duration, and asks for radio silence until further notice. He will then fade from sight and quiet his steps...

The exposed tunnel looks less like a sewer and more like a cave. Not uncommon in the mountains but judging from the dust and taste of the air this place hasnt seen fresh air or anything passing through for decades maybe centuries...

Of course until now...

Its plain to see that someone passed through, disturbed the rubble of the cave in and tracked dust into the new tunnels...

One strange fact about Nosferatu is that they are able to fool one another with Obfuscate. Some might consider this a blessing, Hyde is certain that the Shug does at this point. Hopefully that will work to his advantage.

Hyde presses slowly on, using all of his skill to keep his movements silent in the unknown and unstable terrain. (2008-05-31 14:20:30 Hyde rolls 7 dice to Dex+Stealth (Diff 7) 10,10,7,1,7, 8,1 (3 successes)) {OOC: I upped the Diff because of the dust and gravel}

It wont Hyde long to home in on the faint shuffling, everything down here echoes horribly and he will zero in on what may be the traitor Shug Monkey in a large underground chamber.

The chamber is circular with stalgmites standing on the corners, the center of the room is a hole about ten feet across, black and with no bottom in sight...

The shuffling Shug Monkey, naked from the waist up in all his hairy, stunted glory is covered in dust and muck and kicks something wrapped in a tarp that looked heavy down the pit in the center of the room...

Knowing that Shug does not know Hyde can see him, and more importantly, knowing he himself has not been seen, Hyde focuses on his abilities, forcing himself to remain unseen as he paces in circles around the room, using the cavern's walls to toss his voice around like a wanton dust-devil. (2008-05-31 14:46:16 Hyde rolls 6 dice to Wits+Stealth 10,6,6,10,7, 7 (6 successes)) His deep voice, laced with malice and venom, seems to boom from many directions, first near then far.

(From behind him.)

"I know you're here boy. I know what you've done. You have forced the hand of Themis boy. You have defiled all that is sacred to us. The Eye of Helios is too good for the likes of you traitor. As is the gift of Prometheus. These fires are for cleansing, for purification. You shall have neither, filthy cur.

(from across the pit)

The oaken children of Demeter shall not find your heart. Nor shall Hades claim your forsaken soul. It is what they share that shall reign over your fate. You shall dwell on the threshold of Persephone until the end of days. Never to truly live, never to truly die.

(closer)

I will hang your limbless, bloodless husk as a tapestry in the Hovel so that birds and rats may gnaw upon you till the end of the world, so that all will remember what you have done and throw stones at you. I will ensure that you are never allowed to slip away into torpor.

(closer)

You will learn to envy even lowly Sisyphus.

(Shug can almost feel Hyde's breath on the back of his neck)

Your Torment will be unending.

Shug goes from smug to terrified real quick... He knows what he has done and he knows that booming voice...

He tries to turn towards it each time Hyde speaks but with every shift in location he ends up spinning like a blind fool again.

He takes a few steps away from the pit, keeping his back to it. His beedy eyes narrowed and searching, his teeth gritted and short fangs showing...

'Always so dramatic Hyde, what is with you fucks and all the god damn speeches!?'

His voice raises to a high pitch when he yells, the sound echoing for miles underground...

"You will get used to my speeches worm, you will be hearing many of then in the eons to come."

Hyde detects a subtle pitch in the echoing call... "You think to call for aid? I think not. I have spent far too long searching for you this evening and the sun draws near. Until I have time to deal with you as you deserve, let this place be your tomb. You and whatever dark secrets you have cast into the abyss behind you along with your honor."

With this, Hyde makes his move, he has been watching the Shug's eyes, to determine whether his own position has been compromised, he has received no indication that it has. Surging mystical blood into inhumanly destructive muscles, he expertly shoots in for the opening. (2008-05-31 16:43:44 Hyde rolls 11 dice to Str+Brawl (Clinch) 9,4,1,6,7, 10,8,1,4,3, 9,2 (4 successes))

Hyde slams into Shug with the force of a wrecking ball, initiating a fireman’s carry and lifting the little freak bodily above his head and in one fluid motion, kneels, bringing his spine down again across his own bent knee snapping it like a dry twig and letting him slump to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

(2008-05-31 16:45:44 Hyde rolls 10 dice to Clinch Damage 4,5,10,1,8, 10,6,5,10,9, 5,2,7 (6 successes) (plus 5 Potence, all Bashing is 11-halved to 5, Mauled)

As Hyde’s form blurs into focus, his face is horridly contorted in rage.
“WRETCH! FILTHY DOG! GET UP!”

-----------------------------------------------------------

Shug wasnt expecting that at all. A punch to the face, maybe a thrown boulder but the slam caught him off guard. His spine cracked horribly but refused to break. The Shug Monkey let out a howl of pain that was quickly drowned out by Hydes enraged taunts.

Shug knows he cant win this battle and that running wont be much of an option. He growls as he pushes himself up to his knees, spine snapping back into its normal near straight posture.

As the Shug Monkey looks up at Hyde in a rather submissive pose their is a rumble from below them, echoing up the pit like a muffled, water choked roar.

Before either of them could look or move the hole will erupt with a thick dust and debris clogging the air and killing all visibility...

Hyde will grab blindly at the location where he last saw the Shug Monkey in the hopes of using him as an inhuman shield against whatever the hell it is he has called out of that pit. Knowing that if he can lay hands on the little bastard, his grappling skills will take over and he won't need to see him, just keep him between that thing and himself.

In the blinding dust and debris Hyde will feel the hairy cold body of the Shug Monkey before what feels like a stone hand pushes square into his chest with a force easily equal to if not greater than what Hyde is capable of.

The push isl ess of an attack and more of a warning, and it sure as hell didnt come from Shug.

What does come from Shug is a terrified shriek and a sickening pop and crunchy tear. Even though Hyde cant tell the distance or exactly what happened, he is splattered with cold Shug Monkey blood.

Reeling back from the unexpected force, Hyde is thoroughly confused. He manages to keep from keeling over and uses the momentum to continue backing towards where he thinks the only means of egress is. When his back finds a cavern wall, he begins to slide along it, looking for the exit. When he finds it, he will continue to listen hoping for some glimpse of the being within.

The debris and dust hangs too thick in the air, opening his eyes will be like a clogging sandstorm of fine stone...

He can find the opening easily enough, the chamber was water borne and the exit is smoothly marked.

He will not see whatever came out of the pit, only hear it tearing the now silent Shug Monkey limb from limb like no more than a roasted cornish hen...

Hyde does not know what is happening, or why, but if there is any chance that he can expound upon the hell that Shug is experiencing, any chance that Hyde can make him believe in his last moment that he had something to do with this, he will take it. Yelling into the cloud, he hopes that his words find the traitor's ears still attached to his head. "MWAHHAHAHA!!! Filthy mongrel! I warned you! Now you shall feel the wrath of the Titans! Hades opens his gates for you! This is only the beginning!"

If the Shug Monkey can hear Hyde he gives no indication. Odds are hes already passed on into whatever circle of hell is reserved for traitors.

Hyde is answered however, by whatever is eating the Shug Monkey. A shreiking bellow like a mutated lion protecting its kill from hydenas.

This give Hyde pause, not from fear, but from curiosity, it is in his very nature to try and revel in all that life has to offer. It is a longshot, but is the only one he has other than fleeing. Calling upon the mystical, animalistic empathy that is his bloodright, Hyde bellows out a roar of his own, shifting the pitch slightly to that of a pride-mate recognizing another's kill and then waits for a reaction, ready to collapse the entryway above him and run if need-be.

Hydes roar is answered by a snort. And the creature in the dust goes back to devouring the shug monkey. Hyde will even hear bones snapping and crunching...

As the dust begins to settle he will catch one small glimpse of the thing...

It is, or was, human, a female with distended jaw and hollow black eyes. As it catches sight of Hyde it stands full up and Hisses out a shrill challenge before charging through the greying, hanging dust.

As her eyes fall upon him he remembers his clanmate has been listening in "Grey, I've got a problem here." he says, clearly breaking the radio silence. "Shug is down, and there's something else here, something... nasty." Hyde is not really certain what it was he was expecting. Perhaps it was his calling upon the gods of old, or the stony, powerful shove that convinced him this was some long-lost child of the earth-mother. One thing is certain, whatever he was expecting, this is not it. Now it seems that there is indeed some truth to the oft-used maxim pertaining to curiosity and cats.

Hyde reconsiders his plan to collapse the entryway, he also was not expecting the thing to charge him. He knows that whatever obstruction he could manage to create before this thing reaches him would not bar his own passage for long, and thus it will not bar hers either.

Gone is the smugness of listening to his treacherous clanmate's demise. It is the urge for fight or flight that takes him now. Can he outpace her? Not likely, Hyde is not built for speed. Can he defeat her? He does not know. There are far too many variables that Hyde is not aware of here. What the hell was Shug doing with her in the first place? What will happen to the others if she is able to get past him? Hyde makes his decision.

He takes a few short steps to the side, putting the cavern wall behind him. If she does not cease her charge, he will attempt to use her momentum and his strength to deflect her into the wall behind him like a matador. He sets his feet, readies his hands and draws a sharp breath in through his nostrils, contorting his face into a snarl and filling his lungs to capacity...

(2008-06-03 09:29:17 Hyde rolls 10 dice to Str+Intimidation 6,10,5,9,4,7,8,10,6,8,6,2 (9 successes))

He issues a rumbling growl which turns into a roar so terrifying he even surprises himself, the whole cave seems to shake with the thunder of his voice.
