Cassandra stands just inside the doorway to the apartment, hand on hip, surveying her new domain. Gerald had done most of the searching for her and setting-up of the logistics -- she has no real interest for any of that business. She looked at the pictures Gerald had printed off the internet, and she was satisfied. And standing here, she is not disappointed.
It's quite a spacious apartment, almost as expensive as a small house in the country. The central living space has shiny white polished wood flooring, and a central recessed floor space with leather-upholstered couch and entertainment center. The back wall is almost entirely glass, giving a sweeping view of the nighttime skyline. Branching off are the kitchenette, with its polished granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, a cozy bedroom, and a kind of office space which Cassandra is seriously considering converting into a little studio and "play room."
The central foyer/living space and the attached kitchenette are illuminated with large white spotlights hanging from the ceiling, giving the entire apartment a very modern, sharp look. There's no sulking about in shadows here.
Yes, the place will do quite nicely. Its located in a well-off apartment building downtown, with plenty of security downstairs. She's now coward, and she loves courting danger, but at the same time she certainly needs a safer place to retire to when she needs a break from the dangerous and violent escapades she tangles herself up in.
Yes, this should work, for the time being.
