Alhmanic Drexler Posts : 69 "How terrible it is that there should be even a kind of pleasure in thinking evil.” -C.S. Lewis |
Posted 07/02/2009 10:06:58 AM | | As soon as Preval and Dag are out the door, Drexl orders one of his bodyguards to have Immaculate Transfiguration send over a meat-wagon for the naked corpse on the floor as he goes about removing the dead man's clothes and replacing them with his own. He will then make a series of phone calls, seeking all the information he can on this errant pizza-boy. Bald is not a hairstyle that the Italian gangsters are particularly enamored with, and finding an unusually large and muscled bald gangster should not prove too difficult. Especially if he has enough connections to have someone gunned down at a moment's notice.

The first few calls through his network of contacts in the Underworld do little more than confirm what Drexl already knows, or might have guessed, namely that this man is not on par with himself as a Boss but rather a servant, though it does provide him with a new approach.

It is nearly always the lower echelons where one can find a songbird, someone who is more than happy to spill everything they know whether through fear, respect, or hatred of the party that is sought. Severo is the name of the fool Drexl seeks, and word is that he is often to be found at a certain Italian restaurant which Drexl is already somewhat familiar with. He should have known, should have seen through the young Giovanni's lies. Just because Drexl is trying his hand at honesty and disclosure does not mean the rest of the world is suddenly obliged to return it in kind.
Still... everyone makes mistakes, and it is not as though Drexl lost anyone that was particularly useful. Admittedly, the only one who perished in the situation did so at the end of Drexl's blade. Perhaps whatever situation this Severo found himself in warranted such an extreme reaction. Drexl would simply have to invite him over and inquire about his motivations.

What's this!?! His mind is shielded? From one as Powerful as Alhmanic Drechsler? This can only mean one thing: this was planned, as was the former incursion. The Giovanni are purposefully encroaching on his domain.
So be it. Drexl will have to send them a message, to let them know that he has joined in on their little game.
