SUPRISE: When you suprise, jump, come out of obfuscate or otherwise catch an opponent off guard you get one attack (or more if using celerity/spliting dice pools) during which an opponent can neither dogde, parry, run away or do anything otehr than SOAK.

Once this suprise round is finished, all involved must roll INITIATIVE and act in order of initiative for the rest of the fight.

-------------------------------------------

UNARMED COMBAT:

For all unarmed combat roll your attack dicepool and add the successes to your damage dicepool. Roll Damage dicepool to determine damage inflicted.

Normal strike (Punch, karate chop, whatever): Dex+Brawl (Diff6-8)
Diff 6: Normal bodyshot.
Diff 7: Limb shot.
Diff 8: Face/head shot. +1 dice to damage.

Kicks: Dex+Brawl (Diff 7-9)
Diff 7: Body kick. +1 dice to damage.
Diff 8: Limb kick. +1 dice to damage.
Diff 9: Head kick. +2 dice to damage.

MELEE COMBAT:

For all melee combat you roll Dex+Melee to determine hit success. Difficulty is 6-9 depending on where the attack is aimed.

Diff 6: Body.
Diff 7: Limb (To chop off a limb 3 damage must be inflicted after soak.)
Diff 8: Headshot. +1 dice to damage. (Bashing damage from weapons to the head is treated as lethal.)
Diff 9: Eye, Heart. +2 dice to damage. To stake a vampire 3 damage must be dealt to the heart with a wooden stake.

Damage pool equals hit successes+Character strength and weapon bonus, if any.

RANGED COMBAT:

Shooting can get complicated. But all shooting is rolled with Dexterity and Firearms. Difficulty ranges from 6-10 depending on weapon used, range, aim, cover, movement and obstacles.

Dexterity and firearms determins the successes for a hit and carry over to the damage dicepool which is comprised of the suxx and the weapons strength rating, plus any bonus from targeting a specific part (such as the head).

You can also gain additional dice to your shooting by aiming. Every round you AIM you can add one extra die to your shooting pool.

Aiming with a scope gives you two extra dice per round.

Either way, the extra dice max out after 3 rounds and no more dice can be gained.

Remember: That which does not kill you was simply not permitted to do so for the purposes of the plot.

FORUM COMBAT:

Is, obviously, a little different than tabletop combat.

Highest initiative acts first, because the usual system of lowest stating actiong first, and acting last would expand evry round of combat exponetially and make it impossible to read.

So, highest initiative goes first.

The second thing ive noticed is issues with DODGING.

If you try to dodge an attack you are NOT able to take any other action. Dodging, parrying, whatever IS your action.

If you wish to dodge AND attack you must split your dice pool.

To perform 2 actions in a round (without celerity) you lose TWO dice to the first pool, and THREE to the second.

To perform 3 actions you lose THREE to the first, FOUR to the second, and FIVE to the third.

And so on down the line until you cant roll any dice, at which point, you just arent fast enough to pull it off.

Remember: That which does not kill you was simply not permitted to do so for the purposes of the plot.

SOAKING:

Vampires are resilient creatures. A vampire soaks damage with Stamina and (if they have the discipline) Fortitude.

BASHING DAMAGE:

Bashing damage to vampires is trivial. They cant be knocked out, they dont bleed internally, and  they dont bruise.

SO Bashing Damage against Vampires is first Halved and rounded down BEFORE the soak roll is made.

Ghouls and mortals, being alive are not afforded this luxury, however, seven levels of bashing damage only knocks them unconscious, any further bashing beyond seven levels is transferred to Lethal.

You can beat mortals to death, after all.

LETHAL DAMAGE:

Lethal damage is caused by blades, firearms and well aimed bludgeoning attacks to the head.

Vampires soak lethal damage as they would any other damage.
However they do not take half damage and must soak the full amount. This is why vampires take sword weilders more seriously than gun weilders... Ghouls are also able to soak lethal damage.

NOTE: Gunshot wounds, while lethal (and unsoakable to mortals)are treated as bashing damage to vampires. This means they take half, round down and then soak.

Put down the deagle boy, your silly toys will only get you killed faster.

Im not sure where this fits, but its very important.

HEADSHOTS against vampires, even if they are bashing damage do not get halved before soak.

A bullet, shovel, kick or stab to the head (at +2 difficulty and +1 damage) is neither halved nor rounded down.

Remember: That which does not kill you was simply not permitted to do so for the purposes of the plot.
