Vampire fangs are retractable.

The book makes several mentions of this fact. If one is to bear one's fangs at someone, it is a willful act, and in most circumstances, a breech of the First Tradition. Permanent Fangs is actually a Flaw, indicating that this is a severe disadvantage. If a character cannot help but flash extended canines every time their mouth opens, there is something wrong with them, and others should react to this accordingly.
