Just because this has all been kinda scattered around and it came up earlier today.

Calculating Blood Pool

To judge how much blood you have available in any given scene is relatively easy.

First, have you hunted in the last Month
Yes= You have a full blood pool limited only by your generation.
No= See Next Question.

Have you hunted in the last 2 months*?
Yes= You have half your maximum blood pool available.
No (Or i have never hunted)= You have your herd rating+3 blood points available.

This way every character, regardless of hunting (Your a vampire who doesnt hunt? wtf!?) has a minimum of 3 blood points available in every scene.

The only exception to this is a brand spankin new PC. If you just joined you should roll one D10. This number represents your starting blood pool. There is a minimum score of 3 on this roll, so a roll of a one or a two means you have 3 blood points.

* Months rarely match up to Calendar months (Like willpower regeneration does). Each 'Month' for blood pool is marked by whenever i get around to doing XP. If you have an OPEN hunting scene (Meaning not locked and awarded yet) you have at least half your blood pool available.

Remember: That which does not kill you was simply not permitted to do so for the purposes of the plot.

If your truly hell bent on having a semi decent blood pool without doing any work to deserve it. Build a herd, it takes a while (See: Bellisa) but i will let you build a herd in game if you didnt buy the background at start.

Ghouls and blood pool.

Ghouls spend blood in the same fashion that vampires do. They can use one blood point to increase any physical attribute by one. Ghouls are capable of raising their attributes to beyond human cabilities (over 5) but are limited to twice their normal attribute score.

Example: A ghoul with 3 strength could use blood to crank his strength up to 6, but not higher (a vampire is limited to 10, regardless of the attributes original score).

A ghoul can also spend blood to heal wounds (both bashing and lethal for 1 blood point, aggrivated wounds take 5 blood points and 1 wp point to heal).

In a combat situation the ghoul will have to roll Stamina and survival at diff 8 to heal a wound level. Failure means a wasted blood point.

Ghoul storage capacity
[Note: This does not apply to revenants, but Sawney is our only revenant anyway.]

Being biological entities Ghouls can only hold so much blood. Your typical ghoul can hold 2 blood points without any discomfort in their digestive tract.

To hold more than 2 blood points a ghoul is required to 'make room' by bleeding themselves or being fed on by their domitor before they are fed. However this comes with added risk, because when blood held in a ghouls viens in spent it 'burns' out of his system and leaves him with bloodloss. A ghoul can safely burn 2 blood points from his viens before he takes a level of unsoakable bashing damage from each additional blood point spent.

[add thresholds and penalties part here...]

Ghoul 'Overdosing'

I need to look this up and will add it later...

New Rules for Hunting:

In an effort to make the city feel a little more seamless, and to help promote character interaction, hunting will no longer merely be restricted to a Rack section.  You may now hunt wherever you wish.  This will also open up sites previously in the Rack to other posts aside from just hunting.  Over the next few days I'll be rearranging the board and placing the former Rack sites in other sections of the board.

When making a hunting scene, format the title the following:  "Hunt:  Name of Scene" or "Name of Scene (Hunt)" or some other way to denote (in the title) that it is a hunt.  Other characters may interact in a hunt scene, especially if the character doing the hunt is hunting in your territory.

The following are difficulties for various regions in the game:

Slums/the Rack -- Difficulty 4
Lower income/bohemian -- Difficulty 5
Downtown business district -- Difficulty 6
Warehouse district -- Difficulty 6
Suburbs -- Difficulty 7
Heavily patrolled area -- Difficulty 8

Here is a list of certain sites that are potentials for hunting (originally posted in the rules for the Rack).  These are certainly not ALL the sites that one could use for hunting, just some of the most common "public" hunting grounds:

1) The Banshee. [Diff: 5 for Giovanni, Diff:7 all others]

-The Banshee is a Giovanni owned nightclub located in an expansive warehouse. Under the Giovannis watchful eye it has become the perfect hunting ground for the family and those they allow to hunt there.

Prey: Clubbers, [possibly herd?]

2) The Devils Playground. [Diff: 5 for Dead Punks, Diff: 6 all others.]

-The Devils playground is a large ghetto policed only by a small anarch coiterie. The coiterie is largely trusted by the population but there are plenty of bums, hookers and junkies out there for others to poach.

Prey: Bums, hookers, runaways, the downtrodden.

3) The Stable. [Diff: 6 all kindred.]

-The stable is a brothel that requires special knowledge to find. You have to either be told about it or have Streetwise: 3 or Underworld Influence of 2 to know its location.

Prey: Hookers, thinbloods.

4) One of Iron the Other of Steel. [Diff: 7 all kindred.]

-This bar is a tough joint with topless dancers and alot of biker patrons. Close knit crowds dont make hunting easy inside, but its a rare night some drunk isnt beaten up and left in the alleyway out back.

Prey: Bikers, strippers, drunks.

5)The Red Zone. [Diff: 6 all kindred.]

-This bar is largely considered neutral ground but everything that happens here happens under the watchful eyes of Valentine and Tommy Jones- Minor harpies. Its best to be discreet.

Prey: Clubbers, nightlifers, druggies.

6) Rape street park. [Diff: 5 all kindred.]

-The park is home to a good population of the homeless and desperate. There are plenty of shadowed places to launch an ambush or drag a victim.

Prey: Homeless, junkies, the downtrodden.

7) Corner of Scarlett and Ninth. [Diff: 5 all kindred.]

-This infamous corner has the highest rate of streetwalker activity in the city. If you want to pick up a lady- or man [or in beetween] of the night this is the place to do it.

Prey: Hookers.

8) The Waterfront. [Diff: 6 all kindred.]

-This area is home to warehouses, factories and shipping businesses as well as docked boats, drydocks and lots of warm, shadowed places to hide.

Prey: Homeless, dock workers, thugs.

9) Blue Crab Mudflats. [Diff: 7 all kindred.]

-The flats are a popular after dark escape for young lovers, drug users, the odd bonfire party and of course those with nowhere else to go.

Prey: Kids, druggies, Partiers, homeless.

10) Saint Marys Blood Bank. [Diff: 6 Medical Inf. 2+ Diff:9 all kindred.]

-The blood bank is nearly impossible to make withdrawals from without at least 2 dots in medical influence. Characters who wish to make the attempt through use of bribes, seduction or disciplines will need to roleplay the scene.

Prey: Cold, tasteless bags of plasma.

11) Willowbend Mental Health Clinic. [Diff: 5 Mental Health Inf 2+ Diff: 7 all Kindred.]

-The mental health clinic is a social service that is overused, understaffed and cant keep its paperwork straight. If you dont mind the occassional dose of Thorazine in your vitae it is an easy hunting ground where cries of 'Vampire!' just get your meds upped.

Prey: The mentally Ill.

12) Paradise Homeless Shelter. [Diff: 7 All kindred.]

-The homeless shelter can house and feed 200 people a night with mothers and children given first priority. The Church of Paradise keeps a close eye on the building and its flock so clever feeding tactics work best.

Prey: The homeless and destitute.

13) Gary Handles Bail Bonds. [Diff: Variable.]

-Gary will hire just about anyone to run down errant criminals and no one is likely to notice when someone comes back a pint or two low. To hunt here you need either Streetwise: 2, Law: 1, Or an appropriate influence such as underworld or law. You will have to engage Gary in dialog to get a job. One of the ST's will run the scene for you from there.

Prey: Bailjumpers.

14) D-Block. [Diff: 5 for Setites/Haitians, Diff: 7 all Kindred.]

-D-Block is a sprawling Haitian neighborhood in the slums. Like most ethnic neighborhoods it is fairly tight woven with one main street gang in the area.

Prey: Gangsters, Haitian families.

The original rules were to hunt weekly.  The new rules (which were edited into RJ's original post up above) are to hunt monthly.
