I have been noticing this a lot and have decided to bring it up for discussion.

From my understanding, any vampire lacking the Eat Food merit instantly vomits if they consume anything that is not blood.

If you have the merit, you are still forced to purge your system at some point, as the food simply rots in your stomach.

Is my understanding of this condition accurate? Because, if you, many players seem to be ignoring it.

Yea and since my char. sebastion has that merit. i would prefore not to be waisted bonus points that i could use for someting else.

But best wait for Radiations verdict since Vamp is his baby and there might be some House rule (or something other reason why vampires would be eating food... ).

Without the merit [that only 3 characters ive approved have...] vampires have to spend a willpower each round they wish to hold food down before they vomit it all back up.

Even with the merit they only have an hour or so before they reek of rotting food and have to purge it up [except in the case of conspicious consumption (a flaw) where kindred have to consume flesh to gain blood points].

There are no exceptions or house rules to this.

Who/Where have you guys seen this?

i noticed it a while ago and have been meaning to bring it up for some time now

if i remember correctly, i took note of a few vampires imbibing alcohol.
i don't think anyone actually ate solid food, though.

Theres alot of references to a blood/alchohol/anti-coagulant mixture in various scenes. I tend to let this one slide as it seems plausible enough to me even if its probably a disgusting, cold, chemical tasting mixture.
