A young looking (15?) japanese decent looking man wanders the area in oversized clothes with a dark hoody. ( alertness 4 success awareness failure) Mostly keeps to him self but keeps an eye out for any pot smoking.

 There are many fires here, lighted barrels engulfed in flame surrounded by the dregs of humanity. These are the refuse, the lost, the forgotten. Here they live, though survival is a more accurate descrïption. They eek out an existence and gather amongst themselves, rejected from anyone whom would want to assist them.

You wander through their numbers, the smells a barrage against your senses. Most have not bathed in years, their clothing carrying what stench they have collected as a unique cologne of alcohol, pain, and misery. There is little that stands out to your senses, little that would hide amongst these vagrants that would not have developed a stronger ability to hide then your ability to perceive.

You pass by another barrel and can see a half dozen men and woman huddled around it, covered in dirt and clothing in a weak attempt to expel the cold. Their eyes are shifting and crafty, giving you a sense they are watching you as an outsider, sizing you up as you do the same...

Pulling more into himself Kovacs begins to mold his body to teh non threatening pose that he has begun to master in teh 2 years since his parents death. He focuses his will and his ability to feel for others feelings a skill that has kept him alive for these last two years and feels out for the minds in the crowd feeling there surface thoughts and feelings searching for someone that could be a good contact and the beginnings of some kind of stable life in this city.He rubs his hitter box in his pocket a tie to the mind the potent herb inside a smoke that can alter teh senses. The comforting wood reminds him of teh many times he has been among these kind of people.

As he lets his mind flow out into that of the crowd he lets his keen nose try to sniff out its own prize and perhaps entry into this area. Pot is a rather pungent smell and should pop. For all the shit and piss Kovacs has been honing his nose as well as his new found abilities. Old stories talk about a witch having a good sense of smell...smelling children and such or having a nose for danger.  You continue wandering and realize that any wariness is likely due to a lack of anyone of your same age or ethnicity in the area. You have not seen anyone here that is of your age, nor anyone that is Asian. Not that they have never seen one before, but when confronted with something that appears to be out of place they react with apprehension. They are very wary of outsiders, the world having long ago cast the aside.

After another ten minutes of wandering you smell something upon your nose, an acrid smell. It has a metallic taste to it and seems to be emanating from near the edge of the area, a barrel with only two individuals swathed in shadow. It is not exactly what you were seeking, but it might lead toward those that would be able to direct you.

 You can see they are large men, about six foot. They both are sharing what appears to be a pipe between them. They seem to be growing more anxious and erratic the more they smoke. The mood around the barrel is almost tense, the chemical smell strong.

One of the men turns toward you, his bloodshot eyes spotting you immediately.

"Hey, what the fuck, what'cha doing you little bastard?" in a very deep and aggressive tone. The other starts twitching his arm uncontrollably and in a high tone tweaked manner states, "I told ya Rufus, dem mutha fucka's is watchin us. Day's fuckin real..."

Kovacs would raise his hands trying to look pethetic.

" sorry guys just looking for a place to get warma nd amybe smoke some herb. I see you guys are busy I will let you get back to it."

 They seem to try and watch you, but the area is very dark and the two crackheads are not clearly sober at this point so quickly lose sight of your smaller frame. They start looking around the area, searching for whatever demons they conjured from their own psyches.

"I told ya they's watchin, they's always watchin," says the thinner of the two.

"Man, fuck you and yo crazy ass alien talk, whatever that was it sho 'nough ain't martians. It was a Oriental kid that was starin at me, I know it," replies the other larger of the two.

Their conversation dwindles as you place some distance between you and them.

As he slides away from them in the shadows he weaves his way out of the rail yard trying not to draw any other attention. The crack heads are some of the worst maybe some other place holds the answers he is looking for.
