Luna doesn't pull up right at the house, infact she drives passed the turn off to the house. She takes another road.
"We need to ditch the car," she says to her sister.

As they passed the estate the twins would notice a dim, yellowed light on the third floor balcony.... This is a very rare thing and never a good sign...

Lydia looks to her sister

"Why ditch the car? We were out looking for the girl"

She glances toward the house seeing the yellow light. Fear flashes in her eyes and she's starting to think this was a horrible idea. she looks to her sister and sighs.
"I'll follow your lead," she says as she pulls the car around and back toward the house.

And as soon as the car is parked, a look of panic crosses Lydia's face, and she hops out quickly, running into the house and straight up to that ominous glowing light...

"Father! We tried to find her!! We were just playing, and then she ran! We searched!"

Luna is not far behind her sister and stops shortly behind her. She stays silent for the moment, accurately fiegning concern and distraut on her pretty face.

Carter stands with his back to the railing. Statuesque with crossed arms and an angry face. Anger and stress are what brings his derangements to the forefront. Makes his dangerous, unpredictable and violent.

His grey eyes go from Lydia to Luna, he does not move.

'Tell me what happened.'

Lydia doesn't falter for a moment... a look of panic and regret on her face..

"We went out to play with her father... Like we've done before.. I don't know what was different, but when we opened the door, and I had my knife, she spooked and ran! We didn't realize what she was doing until it was too late and she was past us! We searched for her.. But we had no idea where she went.. And then that scream.."

She pauses for a moment, shaking her head

"That horrible, horrible scream.. we knew it was too late and came back.. I'm so sorry Father!! Please forgive us! We did all we could!"

Carter narrows his eyes at Lydia.

'You removed my Oracle from the safety of the estate to play with her?...'

There is venom in Carters voice but he remains still. His eyes move to Luna, expecting her to answer his question.

"We didn't remove her. She just ran. We tried to catch her before she left the estate, but she evaded us," she looks on to Carter with wide doe eyes, her bottom lip quivering. "We followed her track to the mountains. I suspect those damned howling beasts got her."

Lydia stands there, nodding vigoriously...

"We thought it was funny when she ran at first.. cause no one ever gets off of the estate.. but she must have, because we searched for her and couldn't find her."

Carter is quiet. Considering their story. His innocent childer would never do something as drastic as kill the Oracle he was depending on... would they?

Its unfortunate but she isnt the only Oracle in town either. Carter just hopes Solomon and Kara can track down the other... The loss of his pet Oracle leaves everything uncertain. Carter had come to rely on her predictions. Now he will be fighting blind...

Carter changes the subject; what has happened cant be undone, but they are far from off the hook yet.

'Get dressed up. We are expected across the city in one hour.'

Luna bows her head and s9lently slips from the room. She waits for her sister in the shadows, and once Lydia joins her, she walks with her to thier bedrooms.
"You think we might be meeting others tonight?" she says with an excited bounce to her step.

Lydia follows shortly after her sister.... and she nods..

"We should dress our finest and be on our best behavior."

She grins...
