Kovacs would get out of the cab a couple blocks from his actual destination taking the time to pay his tab with his remaining cash and get out of the car adjusting his back pack and smoothing his new cloths. He would set off at a brisk walk down the street to the address Gand gave him.

He would keep his watch up and make sure there are no unusual surprises in store for him when he gets there. Feeling the smoke still sliding around inside his mind he will take a minute to expand his perceptions and try to get a feel for the before he moves gate.

Quite the contrary Kovacs wont feel at all put off about this place. Theres something strange about it, a magic Kovacs doesnt understand permeates this place and makes it seem less real than it should be. Kovacs will get the uncanny feeling of being watched the second he passes the gate...

Feeling at ease or not he will still be uncomfortable. Ignoring this he will move up to the door and ring the bell. Once again he checks his appearance and smoothes his cloths trying to be as presentable as possible for whoever it is Gand has sent him to see.

The odd feelings Kovacs gets seem to be coming from the house itself. The doorbell rings through various rooms, some sounding very far away even if the house is only slightly above average in size. The door pops and creaks, sliding open slowly seemingly on its own. Kovacs will be greeted by a view of the parlor with its deep colors and multiple chairs, couches and lounges scattered about. The furniture is arranged for socialization, rather than around a central television. The fireplace burns brightly and the room, as far as Kovacs can see, is empty.

Moving just inside the door he will close it behind him and stand at the door nervous and waiting yet his eyes rove over everything he sees taking in the details and trying to make mental notes of the feelings he is getting to put into his note book later.

Then in a clear and strong voice he would announce his presence to the household. "My name is Kovacs. Gand sent me.."

After this he will listen to the echos of his words through the house and for any sign of other life around him.

The name Gand seems to trigger something. The lock on the door behind Kovacs immediately snaps closed, the lights seem to dim and a symphony of creaks resound from the very walls and floors. Above it all will be a shrill: 'Shhhhh!' Before Kovacs will hear my footsteps.

I come down the stairs dressed like I have been working somewhere else in the large house. My jeans have paint smears and my tee-shirt is faded orange. My eyes are narrowed on Kovacs as I reach the floor in the parlor; my voice is somewhat cold when I speak.

'And why did he do such a thing?'

Nervous instantly Kovacs would back up against the door to the house. Once the Lady joins him with her cold voice and words he would start to fall back on his old street habits and slumping into himself.

" Umm he wanted me to deliver a package to this house thats all I know... he is giving me a job and I need the money so here I am ... I don't want to cause any trouble I just want to do my job... I am sorry if i am bothering you with this...."

He would look around more looking over exits and wondering if he is going to have to throw himself out a window to get away if this goes south.

I watch this child withdraw into his shell. Thats typical of Gand really. To hire a broken little drug addict to do his shit work. I will cross half the room and select an intimidatingly large chair to sit on. When Kovacs is done carrying on like third grader caught in the girls bathroom I will tap the small round table next to my chair and say:

'Then do your job, lets have that package.'

Kovacs would realize he is falling into old habits and pull himself straight moving over to the table she has selected and removing the package from his bag he will place it on the table taking a few steps back and waiting for her response. He listens for the front door to unlock ready to bolt if things go south.

" I am sorry if I am taking you away from an art project or painting.. If it helps I could offer my aid in finishing whatever it is you are working on I like to think of myself as a bit of an artist so I would be more then willing to try to make up for the disterbence."

I open the package while Kovacs is making his pitch. My face goes from cold to angered when I see what is inside and I shoot to my feet glaring at Kovacs.

'Is this your idea of a fucking joke?'

I hold out the two items from the package. In my left hand is a lovely Valentines day card that reads: To my Beautiful Wife... in my right is a large dildo that is probably a good indicator of what it says on the inside of the card. I hold the dildo more like a weapon than a sex toy and shake it at Kovacs.

'Get the fuck out of my house!'

The house seems to have a mind of its own, Kovacs will feel a heavy sense of doom like the cieling wants to collapse on him. He will hear teh door unlock with a sharp click and a few bulbs on the walls suddenly glow very bright..

He rockets out of the house without another word unwilling to face down the rage of the house and this women. [2009-02-23 08:57:59 Kovacs Kurosagi rolls 6 dice to dex +athletics 2,4,4,4,6, 8 (2 successes) ] He flies through the door and out onto the street with out a word or even a glance back over his shoulder every step he expects the sky do fall on him but he just keeps running till he is well away from this mad house and mad situation Gand has gotten him into.

Once he stops he is ready for a smoke and shaken by the entire scene he just found himself in the midst of. Trying to calm himself and relax his breathing he would start to walk slower keeping his eye out for a cab so that he can get the fuck back to Gand and get his money. When the bus arrives he would settle into the back to record notes about the house he was just at.
