The stage is set. The players are in place. The odds have been calculated and the game is about to begin.

The Kindred Elders of Sanfield who are participating in the event will be brought to the island under cover of darkness and show to the control room where they will be spending the evening in the secure bunker.

A row of plush chairs each accompanied by a small control box with buttons corresponding to traps, cameras, secret doors and other horrible twists of fate to help skew the odds.

Waiting in the control bunker for the rest of the invited Guests are both prince Carter and Toreador elder Thomas Arturo. A ghoul makes the last checks on the automated cameras as teh island is abandoned minus the Participants and those ehre to wager on their lives and deaths.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Once all the Elders post an arrival i tell all the mortals where they 'wake up' and what they see.

Remember: That which does not kill you was simply not permitted to do so for the purposes of the plot.

Taking a seat, I relax in the comfort afforded. This is usually one of those small vices I rarely afford myself, but it is truly whom I shall be attending with that should make this meeting, interesting.

Not living far away, my trip to the docks is quick. The boat ride by night is amusing indeed, I am always near the water rarely venturing upon it.

I enter with a nod toward the Prince and look at the others assembled. The Tremere stands out, we generally do not get along well. I would assume it has to do with our divergent powers and equal standing in certain circles. I am certain they might disagree but they usually do, either way they are very respectful and I can at least appreciate their rigidity. Now if they could only learn to keep it in the family...

I spot Thomas, though never was formally introduced so I offer my hand, "Good evening sirs, I am Goergio. I appreciate your invitation to this event kind sir," with a nod toward Carter. "I hope my addition shall not spoil the bunch," with a wry smile, the words and meaning both well placed and meant.

Sasha's arrival is foretold moments before she can actually be seen by her two usual heralds; the scented smoke of her perfumed cigarettes, and the sound of her voice as she talks on her phone.

As soon as she crosses the threshold to the control room, she ends her conversation with Patricia with a decisive "I don't care, make it happen." and hangs up. She goes about the room, greeting those she knows, and stopping at Georgio.

"A pleasure, I'm sure, Mister Giovanni. A shame we have not made time before now to become more acquainted. This should be an interesting evening indeed. Especially if that Haitian actually shows up..."

She cocks an eyebrow and smirks a bit at the thought. These little parties are always delightful, but she does so enjoy when new faces are invited.

"You know what they say..." Drexl utters as he enters the room, "Speak of the Devil, and he shall appear." Obviously having heard the reference to him from just outside.

He is dressed in his usually bizarre manner, and playing with what appears to be a lump of silly-putty, molding it into various shapes and kneading it back into a ball.

He notices that Sasha is already engaged in a conversation, so he will make his rounds through the others assembled, meeting and greeting while observing the layout of the monitors and how much they can see.

"Delighted," shaking her hand,"and I believe you are Miss Moreau. I have heard much about your business savvy. I hope my introduction of the investment firm has not caused you any difficulties. I look forward to reinforcing the stability of this fair city in the future and hopefully working with your people to both our benefit."

"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Regent, I am Goergio Giovanni, capo de sanfield." with a smile, his family has never had bad relations with the warlocks, but they are never friendly either. From this mans look it would appear that it shall continue in the same manner.

"I am, and I have heard much of your ruthlessness in the same arena." She smiles, it is meant as a complement, not an insult, merely one tycoon recognizing another. "I am happy to say that with our differing portfolios, there should be no concern of stepping on toes. One of the wonderful things about this modern age of decadence; there is more than enough to go around. Though I would certainly be honored to speak of ventures with you, we should... do lunch." She smiles warmly at the prospect, and her little quip, it would certainly prove a memorable meal.

"Indeed not," Drexl returns to the Regent "I am but recently arrived to Sanfield Rock, and have not yet had occasion to mingle. I am called Alhmanic Drechsler."

He had recognized the face of Georgio when he entered, both from seeing him at court as well as in the presence of Prince Carter when he sent the latter his messenger, but only now is he certain that this is the 'Don' which Alessio spoke of. Drexl will nod politely to the Italian, imagining that he is likely drawing similar conclusions.

To no one in particular, he says "So how exactly is this game played? I would not wish to break any house rules in my ignorance."

Carter will explain the game for the newcomers.

'Its very simple. There are 8 vitae overdosed mortals who all believe they are dead waking up on the island. The island is rigged with all manner of traps...'

He motions to the keypads on the arm of each chair.

'We each have in our control two traps and everything on the island is orchestrated to pit the mortals against eachother, drive up their paranoia and mess with the fragile little minds...'

Carter turns his back on the group as the monitors all begin to flash to life.

'Perfect timing, they are just waking up now. We like to all pick a champion early on, and as their numbers dwindle, our bets grow proportionately. Are there any questions?..'

Drexl's mouth flashes wicked pearl-daggers "I believe I get the idea. If you would allow it, my Liege, I would like to open the table by claiming as my champion whatever useless participant is left over after everyone else has made their selections."

Thomas will nod agreement to Drexlers request.

'Since one of our new guests prefers last pick, I will offer first pick to the other. Signore Giovanni, does a champion appeal to you yet?'

Prince Carter is just another player here. He has no interest in anything but the debauchery at hand. He studies the monitors as the players begin to discover their predicament, knowing full well the hell and madness that is in store for them all...

"I take Mrs. Lynn, she seems to have what it takes to survive. I wager a minor boon she will be the victor." She also appears to be the most fit if she fails, her life's essence strong indeed, he could easily find something she once held dear, something she will do anything to protect.

"I do believe you are next Mrs. Moreau," with a charming grin towards the blue blood.

Sasha hates this game. She resents being here, but sees no other option. Regardless of the fact that even if her 'champion' were to win one of these sick sporting events, the probability that she would be able to feed from them without vomiting are almost
nonexistent.

Honestly she is not even sure why she continues to be invited. She can never actually bring herself to push the button, but then, perhaps that is a part of it. There is nothing quite like playing poker against someone with cash to burn, and an ignorance of the rules.

Regardless, she continues to come for the social-networking aspect, and because she knows that to refuse participation outright would deny her an opportunity to keep a watchful eye on her affiliates. So, participate she does, in a way, by attempting to select the one with the lowest chance of survival.

"I would like the one with the rock. Mr. Dell, I believe."

With a knowing smile he replies,"Jones, William Jones. He shall survive, I'm certain of it," although the Regent has only won a single time in these years. It was worse before these modern conveniences. In older times they would be on the island as well, waiting for them, such a different time.

"As for the wager, I offer up a minor boon as well," he will not be shown up by some pompous Italian rogue, not in his backyard.

"I believe it is your turn Thomas," nodding to the Harpy and well known deviant.

Thomas speaks right away. His choice is clear.

'I will take Mr. MacKenna, the truck driver who cost my establishment a load of fine liquor and wine that will take decades to find again.'

Why Arturo would pick a champion he obviously has a bone to pick with is obvious enough. If the man wins or loses, Arturo benefits...

Thomas turns to Carter, who will challenge the Serpents pick by taking his most likely cantidate.

'I will take the junkie up on the tower. Whatever her name is. I would wager Domain rights to that new resteraunt and club opening on the rack next week... Prime feeding grounds.'

The as of yet unnamed club Carter refers to is to be one of the largest on the rack, its gotten lots of attention and should draw quite a crowd, mortal and kindred alike...

With all claims made Drexler will be left with Donald Miller as his final pick...

The two off-limits contenders as defined by Arturo are Jose Delgado and John Hunter.

Drexl looks over the monitors with some interest, continuing to knead at the silly-putty in his hands. Uncertain as to why there are additional contestants, he decides to leave them alone for now. Though he is quite ready to see how this game plays out and has decided that the players require a bit of a push.

12-15 08:48:32Alhmanic Drexler rolls 10 dice to Perc+Crafts (Diff 8) 4,8,5,3,2, 10,2,7,8,4, 1 (2 successes) [+1 Diff. for observing through a video-screen, +1 Diff. for bad lighting]
12-15 08:57:28Alhmanic Drexler rolls 9 dice to Dex+Subt (Diff 7) 3,5,5,7,5, 5,8,8,5 (3 successes)

He fashions the ball of viscous plastic into the same general shape as the tool which the girl in the shed has selected, while using his hands to shield what he is doing from any who suddenly take an interest.

12-15 08:49:49Alhmanic Drexler rolls 9 dice to Int+Occ (Diff 7) 5,7,4,7,10, 7,4,9,4,9 (6 successes)

He reaches out with his mind, tapping into the near limitless stores of spiritual energy afforded him by his fat, disgusting human sculpture back at his warehouse.

12-15 08:50:34Alhmanic Drexler rolls 9 dice to Dex+Mel (Diff 7) 5,6,5,7,2, 7,5,3,9 (3 successes) [+1 diff. for remote attack]

As Andrea Lynn attempts to pry open the door to the shed from an awkward angle, pulling the tool towards herself to try and get the door to swing outward from the inside, Drexl gives the device a little extra strength, sending the rusty implement into the girl's chest as the end of it snaps off in the door frame.

12-15 08:51:28Alhmanic Drexler rolls 15 dice to Dam 4,3,1,7,5, 10,2,6,3,2, 1,1,5,7,9, 1 (1 success) [12 dice for Hand of Thoth, 2 for extra suxx on attack, 1 for weapon]

But it would seem that the angle was slightly off in relation to his point of view, and most of the force went into the door instead of the girl.

Drexl Curses lightly under his breath in Kreole as he crushes the piece of putty back into a formless lump. “It would appear, Signor Giovanni, that your champion has freed herself.” He says, pointing to one of the monitors.

"Man is so muddled, so dependent on the things immediately before his eyes, that every day even the most submissive believer can be seen to risk the torments of the afterlife for the smallest pleasure."
