The Paradise homeless shelter truly is paradise compared to some of the other options. The shelter is a refurbished warehouse with three floors. The entrance is well lit and 'guests' have to check in with one of the staff who is associated with the church. There is a nurse on hand, but there is always a long wait to see her.

The first floor is divided into a mess hall with row after row of tables and a serving counter where volunteers prepare whatever the church is offering. The other half of the ground floor is a chapel where there is always a priest of the church of paradise on hand to take confessions or just talk.

The second floor is the dormitory that can house 200 people. The bunks are semi private and divided by walls similar to cubicles. The east and west walls are dominated by simple showers and bathrooms.

The third floor is a small overlooking office space that offers the peace of mind of knowing someone is always watching over you from above as well as handling all the logistics that make this place possible and keep it running smoothly.
