The concept of Gossip Corner is simple.

This is a place where Storytellers and Players can spread the word of what is happening in Sanfield.

Most of what is posted in Gossip Corner is exactly that: Gossip; rumours that have filtered through word of mouth, through witness accounts, misinterpreted scenarios, misplaced information or the like. Gossip is not always truthful and is easily spun into something else; just think of Chinese Whispers. But remember, gossip has to have originated from somewhere and there may be fact behind what characters hear. Truth may also be staring them in the face.

Gossip can be dangerous.
That is why there are strict laws: The Masquerade, The Litany, etc. Characters can find themselves in strife if the right words reach the wrong ears, or wrong doings reach the right ears.

Gossip can be helpful.
That is why there are multi-facilities of communication; people like to talk. Characters may find themselves being those right ears and may find it helps rather then hinders their existence.

Gossip is a double edged sword.
Those that use it should do so wisely.

Anyone is allowed to post here providing they adhere to the guidelines that are given below. This thread will be watched and moderated closely.

All subjects posted in this thread must have a target audience included in the title. The target audience are those that will be privy to the information included in the thread, those that do not fit the target audience must not use the information in game - as stands to reason.

Early Saturday morning, at Fiachra’s Pub, a woman wearing nothing but a pair of boots threw a man down the stairs. He broke his arm in two places and shattered all his teeth. The woman laughed and went back to bed. People have been talking about it all week and regulars are sure to hear about it.


Audience by System -
“Another down.” [Hunters]

“You heard from Timmy?”
“Nah, have you?”
“Not since last week.”
“Word has it he was headed to that shack on 56, following a lead.”
“That one about the fangs?”
“Yeah.”
“Shit. I heard it burned down last night.”
“…”
“Timmy was a good man.”
“May he rest in peace.”

Audience by Stats -
“New shipment.” [Streetwise Influence]

*Characters must have at least 3 dots in the Background: Influence; Streetwise.

The ship pulled up at pier 13. Orange lights blink from forklifts are they whiz around with full loads of crates, disappearing into Warehouse B. A man in a fedora is seen talking with one of the floor manager, handing over a thick envelope. The hat is said to be Micky Monroe’s signature.

Some posts may ask a player to roll a combination of stats and achieve a certain number of successes, but usually such specific posts won’t be detailed in Gossip Corner and will go through Storytellers instead.
